Particularly one(s) made within the last ten years? It seems like even Lotus ownership is more common in this forum than Jag ownership.

Can't remember anyone ever mentioning one in a new purchase thread.

My buddy (who HAD said he was gong to buy a rav4 hybrid) just bought a 2 year old diesel XE demo. Granted he does tend to buy less mainstream cars (last 2 were a saab and a volvo) but I just plain don't get it.

I hardly see them in traffic anymore. A guy at work purchased a new F Pace last year and that is literally the only one i have seen in a few months.

An F-type V6S manual (or whatever they call the newest ones) in coupe or more likely convertible is on my "short" list for next car. I gotta find one to drive though. The V8 and R models are getting pretty cheap, but not like jaaaaaaag cheap yet. I'm sure you'll see more as time goes on. The sedans are pretty much jaaaaaaag cheap, so I guess people just forget about them?

      Good question.

I've driven both the F-Type V8 and latest XJR and thought they were great though.

There's a guy who posts here that has one - he had the thread about trading in his 2019 Jetta "another Covid casualty" or something like that is the thread title.

If the I-Pace or Sportbrake were cheaper to lease, I'd consider either.

Own? Probably not, but that has more to do with the fact that I'm not spending $60k+ on any new car.

My dad just picked a 08 XJ8. Looks great, sounds great, drives great. But Godamn if it doesn’t have the hardest most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever felt in a luxury sedan, and the interior is small for its size. I understand why people opt for the Germans instead.

I actually bought two during COVID

      A Project 8

      And

...a real XE. It's a 20MY. You could say I picked it up at the factory, it's cheaper that way.

My BIL had an XE and now has a "british edition" F type S convertible. Or so I've heard. I haven't seen the F type in person. He's not a bad guy, but he's also not my favorite person in the world, so I have no real sense for how the cars have treated him. I can only imagine that the XE was good enough that he felt comfortable with an F type. The local Jag dealer as one of those special edition XEs (Edition 8 or something like that) which looks pretty competent. Shame about the transmission and the MSRP however.

But they never offered the F-type V8 with a manual, only the V6

      XJR Owner here
Made in the last 20 years

In LA you see plenty of F-Types and F-Pace's around. Neighbor just a few houses down has a hybrid or electric F-pace and another neighbor just a couple of blocks over has a regular F-Pace.

The XJ's is something I never see anymore.

I have owned a current model XJ for about five years. It has been a very reliable and comfortable, and does everything a big luxury sedan is supposed to do. No regrets with the purchase.

I want a reason to buy one as I think they are charming as can be and I'm a sucker for charm over substance as my string of exes before my wife will attest to. Quirky, unreliable, but strangely fetching is kind of my jam. Not that you'd know that by the Toota in my driveway.
