Ok ok ok I see my insurance figure has ignited a huge debate so....and I can't believe I went this far but I love you guys....I ran a quote through my USAA insurance as if I was replacing my A6 with a leased XC40 T5 R-Design w/same coverage and 9K yearly mileage.
Actual Insurance Rate: $81.73 a month w/9K miles a year
Adjusting my numbers the math looks like this..
Dealer lease special: 10,000 miles a year, 36 months
$419 per month for 36 months. $3,919 due at signing,
Insurance: $81.73. Note even when I jacked up the mileage to 15K/year, the premium was still just $89.81.
All in including down/monthly/insurance: $609.59 a month
Care by Volvo: 15,000 miles a year, 24 months
$700 per month, $0 due at signing, insurance included
Additional consideration: Tires are covered with Care by Volvo. Even if you factor a $1000-1200 savings into the Care by Volvo price, a traditional lease still comes out way cheaper.
New winner: Traditional lease.
