My backup cam dilemma is a little different.

Wifes 2015 Beetle 'vert R-line. Has a factory RNS-315 w/Fender, a little dated but works fine including the factory backup cam.

Bought and installed RCD330 noname and it works fine - - - except the backup cam. When I put the car in reverse, the factory cam flips open, but the screen on the 330 never changes. I know a lot of people get a black screen, but I dont even get that, it stays on what ever the 330 is doing (car play, radio, etc).

The seller sent me an OBD programmer that looks like this:

      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3290...archweb201603_

Im not too enthused about plugging a device into the car that I can not read any of the writing. I have VAG, so if anyone knows anything about what bits and bytes might be amiss, I appreciate any info. I noticed that all of the RCD330 type units never list a Beetle in their list of applications and I think I now know why...

      thanks in advance!

EDIT: Sorry - I forgot to mention that i have installed two different RGB to RCA converters as well. The first one was a Schoche (sp?) brand. The second one was the "Passat" specific one because apparently the Passat has something different. I also installed two different 10 pin to RCA converters as well. Nothing worked.

THe issue is that the head unit never looks for a reverse image when the car is put in reverse. The screen never changes into reverse camera mode.

      thanks again.

RCD 330/340s use an RCA camera input which is not what the factory camera puts out. There are adapters out there to convert the camera canbus output to RCA for RCD330/340s or aftermarket head units. I can't speak for the one you have referenced.

Thanks Joe. I forgot to mention that I tried two different RCA adapters. I added the info above.
