My mechanic says he cannot save my original Pierburg 2B2 carburetor. I see a lot of Weber kits for sale that include upper and lower adapter plates to fit Golf 1 and 2. Will these fit the B1?
I'm not exactly sure which carb it has. The car is a 1978 Passat B1 GLS, which I understand is a combination of the GL package with the TS sport package. The carburetor is a 2 barrel progressive carburetor like a Weber. The engine is 1500 or 1600. I gave the shop manual to my mechanic, so I'm not able to check exact specs at this time.
Yes the adapter will work. not an elegant piece. The Weber 32/26 is an easy install.
