      Nope. Not possible.

I’m not defending anything, I’m trying to understand if this can happen because of the rev match feature. Everything I’ve read going through the technical documents shows that it could if the stock rev limit has been altered.

For everyone thinking that losing a motor has to be this noisy chaotic experience, stop thinking that. Tires don’t lock up, you don’t have to have terrible rod knock or holes in the block, it can seriously just be a quiet loss of compression. Foof, no more power. That simple.
If the guys says it happened due to the rev match feature and his tune, I have no reason not to believe him. He posted the video of the incident, what happened and let the shop that put everything back together do a write up on it.

Is it hard to believe that when he shifted from 4th to 3rd instead of 5th at 6900 rpm a rev limiter that had been altered or removed entirely would allow the engine to attempt to rev to over 9000 rpm due to the rev match feature? According to the tech doc all it’s doing is matching engine speed to wheel speed at a given gear, which is exactly what could have happened in this case.

If you can prove he let the clutch out, I’m all ears and mea culpa. Otherwise, I’ll take him at his word, it’s not like this guy tries to hide anything based on his IG.

it's not hard to believe that the scenario is possible but for use on a registered street vehicle purchasing a tune that doesn't retain a rev limiter doesn't make sense. the way the original thread is reading, anytime you are DSC off, you are in moneyshift land.
