Looks like a great road trip, and fantastic photos as always.

It's these threads that make me want to move to California, cost of living be damned, so I can make road trips like this.

Thanks for sharing so many great pics.

I used to live in the Bay Area and cruised the Santa Cruz Mountains all the time - 84 from Redwood City to San Gregorio, Skyline Blvd past Neil Young's ranch, Hwy 9, etc. Such awesome scenery and fantastic driving roads - many areas with fast sweepers with good visibility ahead, making for safe yet enthusiastic driving.

Ojai trivia: my brother was pals with astronaut and 3rd man on the moon Pete Conrad. He had a Harley and hung with some Harley guys. In 1999, he went on a road trip from his home in SoCal to somewhere northward and took a spill in Ojai. He went with his group to the hospital as a precaution. Turns out he had massive internal bleeding. Doctors were unable to save him.

      https://www.nytimes.com/1999/07/10/u...cle-crash.html

Here's the eerie part: the word "Ojai" is a native American word - its meaning? "Moon". So a guy who walked on the moon and survived the trip, winds up dying in a town named "Moon" decades later, after a seemingly minor motorcycle spill. Wild!

It's threads like this that make me wonder if it would really be that bad if my other half were to get a job offer in, say, Cupertino...

Thanks for the amazing travelogue, Kiz.

      Just because a car isn't a trailer queen doesn't mean it isn't built--and fit--for purpose.

Negative, but I did enjoy a tasty lunch at Doppio Zero, an Italian joint in downtown Mountain View. They use pizza dough as their sandwich bread. So good I went there 2 days in a row.

Woodside VOR is the north end of the fun roads. South of that down to Santa Cruz is where the fun is at.

Great thread Kiz! Great seeing you as always, and I’m glad you braved the early morning departure to join us. That was a great run out to the coast.

Not too bad actually. Saw some signs about it but that's about it.

When I put Michelins on my Rav4 a couple of years ago, nobody said break them in.

I missed a road trip opportunity.
