All these threads lately about the Frontier and Tacos had me thinking, I have yet to see a new Ranger in the wild. What’s the sales figures look like? I’d expect to see one or two since rolling off the line in Oct 2018, but nada.

I've seen maybe 3 here. It's just not a strong proposition for our part of the country when we're used to full sized trucks with similar fuel economy and a better ride.

My local metro dealers have tons of 2019's on their lots. Most been there for 200+ days. Ford thinks they have something special and won't throw the big incentives at them like the F150. The truck is way over priced!

I see a fair amount on the road by me. Seems like for ever 10 F150 Ford sells, they sell 1 Ranger

It looks like Ford moved about 90K units in 2019. Not terrible for reintroducing a vehicle into the market, with a dealer network that has become reliant on selling people trucks they don't need.

When the truck was new to this market and most likely to get the best sales numbers, Ford had supply issues.
Now supply has finally caught up, but where are the sales?
According to goodcarbadcar, the Ranger has been selling about 10k units a month for the last 6 months in the US.
In comparisons, Toyota sells about 20k a month.
You would think we would see more Rangers on the road as they have moved 55k in the last 6 months?

The first time I saw one on the road I thought it was a Mexican truck. At that time I had no clue they were selling them here again. I had to google it.

Now that you mentioned it. I haven’t seen one in about 3 months. I remember saying that’s an ugly truck!

I live in Winnipeg, and yes I know how depressing that must be to of read... We love love trucks here. I've seen like, one new Ranger.
Somehow, I keep getting used Ranger ads on Facebook. Like, how are these already bought and sold back to the dealership?

I think the Ranger only exists to sell people higher-margin F150s. Probably why you don't see much money on the hood.

I've heard that the XR4TI was that to the Cougar.

I see them here and there, but we're in the Detroit area, so the Big 2-1/2 are the, "home team".

Seems like a very expensive way to chase margin

I am deep in pickup country.... I've seen maybe 1 Ranger since they hit the market. I've seen more air cooled Porsches and +25 y/o imports than Rangers. If they can't sell em here forget about it

I imagine 100% of Ranger sales pitches include the phrase... “you know... for the same payment I can put you in an eff-one-fifty.”

I've seen a few but not what I'd consider many. Competition wise I've seen way more Colorados/Canyons on the road and of course tons of Tacomas, and only a handful of Gladiators. On that point, I actually saw my first Gladiator in the Emerald Aisle yesterday along with a bunch of Wranglers (@ DAL) which doesn't bode well for Jeep sales (rental fleet sales can be a sign of poor private sales).

Good amount of Gladiators on the road down here.

      Rangers not so much.

There’s a decent amount of Rangers here. I see at least 1-2 every day.

Yeah, currently Gladiator sales are ~16K units per quarter so they are indeed selling however IIRC FCA expected to sell 100K a year so they're below expectations. Oddly I gazed over the inventory at the Jeep dealer next to Love Field yesterday and saw 0 Gladiators on the lot, website shows they only have 7...and DFW is a big market for trucks. Not sure what's going on with the Gladiator.

You can say the same thing about the Colorado and Tacoma. These little trucks are not cheap at all. Not to mention you're practically paying 105% for 95% of what a full-sized can do.

I don't think I've seen one either. CT also. Some renegades, more Colorado's but not many. Every 4th truck I see is a silver Taco like mine. It's my 2nd vehicle now so only 2K year...new frame, 120K miles it should be the last truck I ever own.

also own a 03 Silverado Plow truck.

I've got 3 Gladiators at my store. 2 sport S's and a Rubicon. I see quite a few in town.

Having driven one, they feel sluggish compared to the 2.oT in the Wrangler.

The problem with the Ranger is that it's simply too big for the segment it was intended to fill.

Ford should have waited and designed a smaller truck it could sell in the US as well as world markets.
