Speaking with a shop about building these for me...

Thoughts on 16 vs 17? They can be built either way.

Take a look at tire choices for each size. Wide 16 can be pretty scarce these days.

      Quoting myself, lame I know.

Ok, this is pretty much a no brainer. Scoured the interwebs for tires and there are tons of good options in 17". Hardly any in 16.

I think 17s will look just fine.

I would search for pictures before you jump into 17". I've had several on my 930, and 17" is a tiny bit too large looking for the g chassis in my opinion.

as was stated, 16" tires are scarce, but they are out there, and 16" just looks far better on the car.. really depends on how wide you go on the wheels but I've had good luck with BFG g force comp2 in 225/50 and 255/50/16 on everything from 8-9" in the front and 9.5-11" in the rear.

      I'm running 225/45-16 and 245/45-16 Toyo R888R

Technically a DOT-R, but not too scary in the rain and tread life has been much better than I thought.

I agree with all of the above. I will take another look at 16" tire selection, but there are significantly more options in 17". I would absolutely prefer 16"...

      HAHA. Simmer down there Brad!

Does it make you feel any better to know that I was responding while sitting in the back of a big design review meeting at work? I had zero business being on Vortex and didn't give it my full attention. My apologies. My part of the presentation was at least over.

So it looks like in the sizes I was planning to run, either your R888's or the BFGOODRICH G-FORCE SPORT COMP-2 are available. The BFG's are 340 treadwear, so I'd definitely go with the R888's. Just wish I had more options. I'd be concerned if Toyo decided not to make them in the future.

To each his/her own. I do appreciate the feedback regardless.

I'm sure I will be holding on to the 6/7 Fuchs too.

FYI, a PM is coming your way. I got some guidance on offsets/widths/etc from someone over on Pelican, but I am also curious to know the specs of your setup.
