Little Rock mayor wants to initiate shelter in place for the city.

Governor says no, no shelter in place for anyone in the state. You can't do that.

What a bunch of garbage. Stay in the governors mansion and deal with state level business, stop meddling in the affairs of municipalities.

Can anybody explain why we continue to let this miserable petty excuse of a human being to keep doing this garbage? This is what a failing democracy looks like.

When are people gonna wake the **** up?

Well we've been locked down here for Two weeks, however there is a lot more traffic on the road this week compared to last week. Rush hour has definitely picked up. As if they said **** it, it's been two weeks and I need to get back to work.

This is our third week on lock down and I've noticed the same thing, more cars on the road this week and our company is getting more business calls.

      Key facts:

      • 394 coronavirus deaths among 8,682 cases in Washington
      • At least 87,818 people in Washington have tested for coronavirus as of April 3, and 8.6% of the cases tested positive.
      • All Washington schools will remain closed through this academic school year, but remote learning will continue.

New hospitalization rates slow in the city despite a new high for deaths per day. Storage is becoming an issue for more hospitals.

My uncle in Connecticut passed but we don't know if virus or other issues. 70+ demographic and lifelong smoker, came down with flu like symptoms, barely a few days pass the phone call comes that he's gone. Plan is for a private funeral with celebration of life once this is all over.

To branch out from the mainstream media experts, been looking over this site everyday www.statnews.com
Very fascinating blog posts from medical experts, researchers and doctors.

Here is one that caught my attention: https://www.statnews.com/2020/04/07/...read-covid-19/
Testing the poop coming into waste management facilities to verify how many people in a area have COVID. Sh!t you not!

Another tough read about how the African American communities are getting hit hard: https://www.statnews.com/2020/04/06/...-data-limited/
"African Americans in Illinois, for example, accounted for 29% of confirmed cases and 41% of deaths as of Monday morning, yet they make up only 15% of the state’s population"

The sun can play tricks with your eyes on the highway
The moon can lay sideways until the ocean stands still
But a person can’t tell his best friend he loves him
      Until time has stopped breathing
      You’re alone on the hill

Read something today about how, in addition to smokers, those who live in high pollution areas are also being disproportionately affected. I guess when you add this to already-diminished lung function it's that much more dangerous to affected people.

Life is such joy in the sacrifice zone, between living on a giant pile of radon, right on top of a fault line and breathing in particlized plastic/aluminum every day, I figure I'll be hella lucky to make 75, and if I make it that long I might have well wished I didn't.

In France they have declared the boulangerie to be essential. The baguette is more important in France than wine or life itself.

Well it's food, and you'd be hard pressed to find many food places that offer carry-out even in the US which have been ordered to shut down. I've walked Paris streets and at least in a few parts and boulangeries are more common than markets. The place I stayed at probably had 10 cafe/boulangerie per Carrefour City, for example. Everybody's gotta eat.

I just read on FB that one of my friend that moved to Venice Italy (from Venice Beach CA... yes someone actually did that) 10 years ago was gravely ill with COVID-19 but has since recovered somewhat. She is in her 40s and was in good health before this. Her husband posted that she went to hospital 8 days ago with a fever and soon became unable to breath on her own so was put on a ventilator. At one point she was so ill that the Doctors advised him to contact the US consular in Milan to make arrangements but she pulled thru and started recovering. She is still at the hospital but will probably live.

They were sheltering in place but she still got sick from unknown contact, perhaps while out buying food supplies. The husband tested negative.

I was in Milan at the beginning of Feb and was planning to take a train over to Venice to meet up with her but I cut my trip short because COVID-19. So this is quite a bummer.

Same thing with bakeries in Germany. But that's got more to do with the fact that restaurants can sell takeaway. Even ice cream shops can. I'm sure cafe owners are livid now.

      Thank you.

I've been reading up on recent funerals and new rules in place. For example many funeral homes are no longer prepping the bodies, or installing viewing glass to protect family members. Some report the funeral homes are pushing for cremation or outright refusing to do coffin burials right now. These lengths take away from the healing experience and provide constant reminder of the troubles going on. In some ways I'd rather wait to gather when the storm passes.
