Anyone wonder why Apple has 2m masks? Reports aren't specific if they're buying or have on-hand. Unless the masks come from Apple manufacturing plants.

Told by who? Our schools are even set to open up in April.
We're being told by our governor that the peak won't occur until June/July. He has not said how long he will keep non essential businesses closed, but the assumption is that as long as cases are increasing, we will be closed. The mid May timeframe was our GM's estimate. I can assure you if we opened in 2 weeks, every single person will be called back. The company also chose to pay everyone's health insurance in full for April to ease the burden on everyone.

It is not 'the governement', it is your children (or future generations) who will pay on money that the government doesn't have. I am against moving massive amount of money for the current groceries expenses. 1 trillard USD in the USA, we see the same in Canada. $82.5 billions CAD.... what the hell are they thinking.
we have far fewer infected per capita, so if you're happy about a lower death rate per infected, that could rapidly change. people need to stay home as much as possible.

      Canada : 20 deaths, 37 million people
      US : 349 deaths, 331 million people

the US is definitely an example not to follow...I really truly hope i'm wrong.

Mayor issued a stay in place order in Nashville this morning, but the list of essential businesses is so far reaching it has no teeth to it.

Anyone else having a chill as hell quarantine? Ran a last few errands this AM (haircut and picked up oil change supplies), then worked in the yard cleaning up, took a bike ride with the family, made a great dinner with the wife and kids, had a beer at the fire pit in the back yard, about to go have family movie night (Frozen 2, can’t win them all)....

I mean, this forced relaxation at home ain’t that bad. Wife and I are both working from home, older daughter doing her school work remotely, younger daughter still going to babysitter right up the street, it’s...kinda nice.
I'm still working. We maintain the backbone of the internet so our work is never done. Have to go to the office today as part of skeleton crew. Hoping this is my last time in a while. Went grocery shopping yesterday. I hate to fill up my buggy but I also dont want to go grocery shopping twice a week. At least I wasnt one of those Karen's with 2 carts overflowing SMH.
      signatures are annoying, right?

yeah that's exactly what we need to avoid doing. We had tons of people doing that here. Pretty short-sighted and disrespectful.

Honestly, if people worked together (as in thought of each other with their actions) we'll get through this sooner and quicker with less casualties.

One of my wife's friends, her and her husband are laid off right now and their landlord is suspending rent, so she is planning on using her stimulus check to buy a pool.

One of my coworkers was complaining this past Thursday that work hadn't been canceled because he wants the excuse to stay home.

Went to my local grocery store this morning. It was dead. They had more than enough of pretty much everything, from meat to TP. The only thing that was a little picked through was the bread. There was still more than enough, but you may not have gotten your typical, preferred loaf.

On a more personal note, I found a much easier way to get to this store, its so close to the new house. Its nice finding those easy shortcuts as you get more used to living where you live. Literally took a minute to get there and back. Super convenient.

Defend themselves from the threats they imagine coming. People are getting worked into a frenzy thinking this is the end of the world even though there is no evidence to support that line of thinking. So people are hoarding everything imaginable, guns and ammo included, thinking they will have to defend their 3 year supply of toilet paper from the gangs of roving bandits that are *sure* to appear.

Defend themselves from the threats they imagine coming. People are getting worked into a frenzy thinking this is the end of the world even though there is no evidence to support that line of thinking. So people are hoarding everything imaginable, guns and ammo included, thinking they will have to defend their 3 year supply of toilet paper from the gangs of roving bandits that are *sure* to appear.
      well that's really f*cking sad.

sometimes I swear some are just looking for an excuse to kill another human to realize a common apocalyptical fantasy. Instead of asking yourself "what can i do for my community" / "what can i do to help out someone else", it's a mindset of "gotta protect what's mine at all cost".

Any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy.

edit: holy shet, US now has highest cases growth rate in the world, and its health workers are running short of medical supplies.
      Numbers are increasing every hour!

If true, people who are terrible with money will always be terrible with money given the opportunity. That's not a fair evaluation of the masses because one family, based on hearsay, is making poor decisions.

Stay home and not get sick? Like many governments are recommending?

Thankfully, it's the bookends of society doing the ****. There are gun and ammo sales spikes all over the country, and cases where people are buying out stocks of TP and hand sanitizer and soaps to try to get rich reselling stuff. At the same time all over the place people are giving away those same products to people in need, people offering to do the shopping for at risk individuals so they can stay safely quarantined. Massive efforts to buy delivery food from local restaurants that can no longer serve dine in. Most sports franchises have some form of monetary help going to the service staff at venues to help those workers through the shut downs.
