I have a salesman (apparently) calling me back tomorrow regarding a 718 Boxster Spyder allocation. My wife isn't on board, but I need this car in my life.

Eh, the odds of landing an allocation are slim. And I enjoy my 987 S. But I wants me some Boxster Spyder.

      What's the primary driving factor?

I'd only do it if I was gonna track it (GT4).

No that's not true, I'd do it if I could afford it.

The problem, good sir, is this word "afford."

      Yes, I can afford it.

But I do not know if I can afford an angry wife for the 48-60 months worth of payments.

I do not know if I want to afford this, along with private school for my kids, etc.

I also want to buy a new house in the next 18-36 months that will not be cheap. I do not know if I can afford to alter my credit ratios and/or dump a bunch of cash on this if I will need a big down payment.

But the want is strong. They have a classic GT Silver Metallic Exterior/Red Interior Combo (the same one on my current Boxster, just way updated) for the Spyder -- although I would swap the GT Silver Metllic out (sick of looking at it) for Chalk. I don't need much in the way of options -- just the interior/exterior special color, the Burmester stereo, and seat heaters, and I am a happy camper.

We'll see. I need to avoid divorce.

If you're willing to call around and shop outside your area, it's not hard to find an allocation.

      Doesn't think look good?

Beautiful. And yes I’ll quote the image again.

The first Boxster concept car was silver & red and it’s still such an amazing combination. I’m partial to loud-ass blues too, but I wouldn’t kick this out of my garage.

Haha. Oddly, I love the loud-ass blues with the Cayman. Something about the Boxster, however, begs to have a conservative exterior color with a bright interior color. Just IMO, of course.

That same color combo (GT Silver Metallic Exterior/Carrera Red Interior) is what my current Boxster has. As stated, I still love it, but I'm sick of the silver. I think if you swap the silver with Chalk, it would be perfect.

I don't get Chalk at all. GT Silver with that red interior is the way to go on the Spyder, though.

100%. I don't usually love silver but with a red interior it works really well on Boxsters.

Chalk is my fav current porsche color. As stated, I current have GT Silver/Red on my 987.

This one does it for me:

Here is my current hoopty (it's the only picture i have showing the interior + exterior colors). I was changing the accessory belt.

I get it. I like GT Silver Metallic over red. Chalk is better.

      You're all wrong.

The biggest issue with the Boxster/Cayman is that the 911 exists.

As much as I love the GT4, I would have to get the boxter Spyder. It has evolved into such a sexy beast these days.
