There are plenty of rumors as to why Bourdais's engine lease wasn't renewed. Chances are pretty good we will never know why.

SP Arrow McLaren unveiled their IndyCar livery today. Not too shabby:

I really want to cheer on McLaren in Indy Car given that they are my all time favorite F1 team. it's just hard knowing the Hinch lost his job because of this, I like Hinch, he's not my favorite driver but he's a good character that Indy Car needs. Just sucks that he got the boot in all the circumstances that led up to this.

Yep. Not much surface area on the speedway aero kit.

I agree 100% although he isn't done. He'll be @ Indy at least with his new Genesys (sp?) sponsorship in probably an Andretti 5th entry.

I like the screen. I think it makes the cars look like a fighter plane. It will look more cohesive on the chassis redesign though.

I think the screen is a much more aesthetically pleasing solution than the flip-flop. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

Bourdais brought some speed with him to Foyt, which is much needed.

Why is Alonso having such a hard time getting a ride? I know the Honda thing looms large, but there has to be a full-time team looking to take on such a high profile name for a single race.

Ed Carpenter and SPAM are the only two Chevy teams that can set up shop for him this late in the game. I hope he finds a ride, because IndyCar needs him to show up. Well him and Kyle Busch.

ECR said they are not willing to add another car at Indy so it looks like they are out as well.

With enough money he would. He did mention that it's a little too late to get the ball rolling though.

I wonder if the Captain would step in? He has a history of adding extra cars to his effort, and it would be a feather in his new venture at Indy.

With his bargaining power, he might be able to work up something for someone else, otherwise he might have to give Helio the boot. His stance is pretty firm that he won't bring a fifth car, but anything is possible. After all it would be in Roger's best financial interest to have Fred in a car.

I think he's selling himself and the other teams short by not competing for a full season. Now that he's done Dakar, won Le Mans, why not do a full season of IndyCar? Surely it would have opened him up to more teams to compete the Indy 500 with. And I imagine the IndyCar driers would revel at the chance to race head to head on road courses with one of the top F1 drivers of the era. Just one season, it's just a year.

because he wont win, and European open wheel drivers dont like losing in american series. one off, losing the indy 500, plenty of ego excuses can be made.
