Ricciardo is the only wold card left, he always wanted to wear red, this may be his shot at it. He just has to beat Ocon, which should be easy.
I see no reason why Ferrari would want Ricciardo, when they're all-in with Leclerc. I see them getting a solid driver who isn't really going to challenge Leclerc, but is good enough to consistently be on the podium and score points. Ricciardo isn't that guy, and I don't know if he's as good as Leclerc or not, but he will for sure not play the informal role of a #2 driver. So I see no reason why Ferrari would go for him.

I think if he's not driving for Ferrari, then Vettel retires, as rich man and 4 time WDC...and probably fathers a 4th child.

And so is every single London oddsmaker, his WDC futures are tracking better than in any prior M-B season.

Yeah, as much as I like Ricciardo he wouldn't be a good fit at Ferrari. I guess in my heart I don't think Leclerc can wage a championship drive over a season and needs an experienced hand in the other seat to be there for the bad races. But you're right, Ricciardo left one team that tried to make him a #2, he wouldn'twant to be that at Ferrari either.

OK, so now I don't know where Ricciardo or Vettel is going now, thanks

I really do hope Vettel pulls out of his nose dive this season and gives it a go. As Smoo said, it's like he's got the yips or something. But you're probably right, Vettel will pack it in if he drives as badly in 2020 as he did in 2019

He's got 12 seasons, 4 WDCs, and 53 wins under his belt, plus well over $200M in lifetime F1 income, a wife and 3 kids and a nice home in Switzerland w/ over 50 new, used and vintage MCs he enjoys tinkering on. I also think he'll enjoy retirement after 2020.

It isn't negative if it's true. If you like hand-egg, does it help the sport that the Patriots win every SuperSeriesBowl game? The same applies here.

Webber called it what 6 years ago now? Actually after googling for the quote it's exactly 6 years.

“I think Seb will do everything early in life: he’s got his championship titles and his results early, he’s going to have a kid early and I think he’ll retire early – he’ll probably take a blast in the red car, then sayonara…”

Your words, not mine. I've never written a negative thing about the hybrid era, just the lack of competition era.

This thread is open to anything and all things F1. Just because you don't agree with the topic doesn't mean it's wrong or not allowed. If you want nothing but a cheerfest, then www.baldchampion.com/forums is just the place.

If he tanks as bad this year, he has his accolades but his wreck and spin compilations will precede them.

The thread's Debbie Downer rant about the car is often used to bash Vettel ironically. I hope he gets his groove back for one more shot.

It's not bitching, it's constructive criticism. There's ways to make the sport better. And seeing how major investment from Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Nissan, Porsche and Mercedes just went into Formula E and there isn't a single new team/investor wanting entry into F1 at this time, I would suggest to people like you that don't want any change at all start thinking more critically about that.

I could car less if Vettel wins another race, I care that I already know who can and cannot win a race in an entire season before the season starts. If not liking that aspect of F1 is negative, take a poll and see who wins that debate.

Oh, I have asked him to continue and you certainly can join. But funny how you snip at negative people in the Indy thread

Because it is VERY easy to see who is an educated race fan and who isn't. Sure we can have differing views, but when someone says **** that isn't true, then well...

Now that you mention it, Hamilton's greatest victory in the last decade hasn't been on track.
