      If you can't stand watching Scotty (I'm OK with him) the top 5 money pits according to Scotty are;

      5 Audi A4 Quattro
      4 Jaguar XJ
      3 BMW X Series
      2 Mercedes S600
      1 Porsche Cayman

Wow I'm surprised no Maserati's qualified here. Maybe Scotty doesn't see many of them though?

You guys realize we are effectively supporting Kilmer by constantly talking about him and linking his vids, right?

He incorrectly says that China's Chery owns half of Land Rover. Not true. They have a joint venture in China like every other foreign automaker.

I didn't hear him mention Chery. What he said was "the Chinese now own half of Jaguar, and it's called Jaguar Land Rover, they merged the companies originally, Tata bought the companies and then half of it got bought by the Chinese and they're making stuff in China."

Well good thing those cars are largely leased so they technically aren't money pits, at least for the consumer.

I feel like that with all of these. Are any of them worse than the others? I don't want to watch the video to find out.

I mean, older ones are plagued with suspension issues, that's what I gathered from the dealerships I worked at in the past. We had a lot of used B5/B6 A4's that sounded like nightmares. Obviously, if that carried through the newer models, you'd have to include more cars on the list like A5, Q5, and so on.

I feel like his speech and overall delivery style has become much more maudlin over time.

Anyway, I disagree with regards to the Cayman. Upkeep is not that expensive. Parts are not that expensive. They are reliable cars if they are driven regularly and maintained regularly. The annual maintenance costs on my Cayman are not out of line with any of the VWs or later Hondas that I have owned.

Scotty was recommending to lease them too, just so you come out ahead and aren't a slave to your money pit on wheels.

Yeah that's bull ****. Tata is 100% owner of Jaguar Land Rover.

What i do agree with him is that some euro only techs will say all modern benzes are "good cars" no car that requires 2,000 repairs yearly is good unless you like throwing money away.(i know some are not too bad like last gen ML)

I dont agree: saying all X cars are junk 1st gen E53 X5 I-6 models are pretty damn reliable once you take care of the cooling system, along with base model 1st gen X3s

i agree with this list entirely except for the Cayman, yes they can have the IMS issue. however, that doesn't make the car a money pit; consumables are fairly reasonable, the tires are a common size, brake bits aren't crazy expensive, they are affordable on the used market, and their service regimen looks no worse than other sports cars.

the car i would swap that with the E46 M3 (particularly the DSG), every person and every report i've seen indicates that stuff on them is highly failure prone and can get pricey, fast.

I hate Scotty Kilmer and I have no idea why anyone watches his videos.

There is an abundance of great YT car channels.

If anyone is about to ask me for examples, search here we have a big thread with recommendations.

This whole list is stupid. ESPECIALLY the Cayman. I can see whining about a B5 A4, but the rest of the list is like, um, really? Jag people don't care about costs, Merc S600 people don't care about costs, and BMW Xer owners all lease and drop. This make no sense at all.

At least I know never to pay any attention to this idiot.
