There are 500 bricks on a plane, one falls off. How many are left?
      499

What are the 3 steps to putting an elephant in a refrigerator? Open fridge, put in elephant, close fridge.

What are the 4 steps to putting a giraffe in a fridge? Open fridge, take out elephant, put in giraffe, close fridge.

The lion king is having a birthday party. All the animals attend except one, who is it? Giraffe, he’s stuck in the fridge.

Sally wants to cross an alligator infested river. There is no bridge and the only way she can get across is by swimming. She swims across safely, how? The alligators were at the birthday party.

Sally dies anyway. How? She got hit in the head by a flying brick.

This about sums up the thread.

When people like you make quips like that (Lord Emporer) because you are so adamant about your political beliefs, you make us look weak as a nation as there is no solidarity and no nationalism. Pretty sad as our country is more everyone else's country now anyway. And no, I'm not xenophobic, I'm patriotic- something everyone around me has seemingly lost.
Holy crap you are off the deep end! Patriotic certainly does not mean being a lickspittle follower of our "leader" And referring to our country as "Everyone else's" certainly is xenophobic. Try supporting the ideals of our Constitution and not the "Nation and your Leader" so much.

So yes you are not understanding.

The term "49 state" is one used across the auto industry to refer to vehicles that may have equipment that is not compatible with those that have "CA" or "CARB" or "50 state" compatible parts. You can walk into a dealership and they might even ask you this at the parts counter. It is used to identify vehicles when you walk into an Autozone or order parts on rockauto.

It is and was relevant to the discussion, and being used correctly, as people were asking what the differences have been between the cars that met CA standards and those that met the federal standards.

Term 49 state is a bit misleading and outdated though. I think there are now 14 states and DC that have adopted or are in the process of adopting CARB. So we should update the term to be 35 State.

Ehm...well. The G650 is capable of leaving the ground and going over ocean water without being totalled or having almost guaranteed casualties. If that's not a selling point, I don't know what is.

I was mostly just replying in jest because Andy has recruited me more than once to join the HondaJet program. Considering the fleet of HondaJets one could buy for one G650, the comparison was dead from the beginning on my part.

In recent years, the environmentalist personality archetype is tightly associated with the radical left (green new deal, socialist democrats). I suspect it all started after the potus pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord and then it just snowballed from there as the corporate media giants set the standards for what is left, and right, to make people choose a side, and subsequently sew the political division through cable news, social media and news websites. The entire process is a coordinated multi level marketing scam. Two sides of the same coin.

I read it. The thread. All of it. Yeah.

So, used cars smell like peen, you can be gay, trans , hetero and there's nothing wrong with that but somehow still be politically confused, you weren't born that way so it must have been the environment or news channels, cars are expensive and time consuming to make no matter what and there's some ambivalence about meat, and that's just sacrilegious right there.

They say you are who you hang out with. Thanks for making me sharp, witty, backwards and weird TCL

You don't need to lecture me on what the term means. I know what it means in the context and it wasn't being used in the right context in this thread. I was responding to the question about the difference now and why it matters EPA's action will result in problems in the market place by pointing out that it doesn't exist now. There are no 49 state new car for sale anywhere in the US now. We have a single emission standard now, since 2016 in fact. And in practice, there haven't been a 49 state car for sale for awhile longer since the car companies had anticipated the CARB standard will prevail pre-2016. For the most part of 2010s, the difference between CARB and "49 state" cars have been just the required stickers under the hood.

      You mean the FMVSS?

there are parts of it better/ safer than other standards and parts worse.

And let's not pretend there is a single other standard globally accepted outside the us.
