Curious to see the price point.

What are we guessing for size & space for this thing?

With the "SUV coupe" shape it could be compromised like a Porsche Macan

or it could be roomy like a Model Y (purportedly) due to a bespoke EV platform,

Hoping we'll basically get a more affordable Model Y alternative.

They've made a lot of noise about it being "affordable", but that could just mean it won't be six figures. Based on the best guess I have, they will start the short range RWD version around $42k, but then top line long range dual motor models should push $60k or slightly higher.

That'd push above Model Y. I'd guess they'd want to stay under or roughly even?

The thing to keep in mind is that Ford MSRP runs high, yet discounts are expected, so they price the cars accordingly. Example: A 2020 Ford Escape SE is $27k, while a 2020 Toyota RAV4 LE is $25.8k. Plus, they haven't run out of federal tax credits, so that knocks quite a bit more off the final price of a Mach E.

Ford also has the full federal tax credit... they can be more expensive on paper, but cheaper in reality. I'm expecting 45-65k range... which will mean 37.5-57.5k after the credit.

This car looks like it is going to have a fairly traditional long hood design.
This seems unnecessary and inefficient for an EV, but important for the Mustang design theme.
I'm going to guess that this thing, because of the long hood, will be somewhere between the Escape and Edge in size. It might be closer to the Edge, in general.

That's not bad looking. I don't know if it's what they need at this moment or not, but it's not bad looking.

Interested to see what the details look like, but over all I am liking this way more then I thought I would.

Very interested in seeing what the price/performance is on this. The first to market with a reasonably priced, good performing Electric SUV will have a hit on their hands.

Just noticed what looks like a pano roof. Would be cool if it has that MKZ retracting pano roof (probably not for weight savings)

On second thought, it’s a hatch, there’s no way it could have that really

I'm willing to bet it will be similar to what Tesla does with the all glass roof. Either way, I'm excited to see how this pans out. A lot of premium electric SUVs coming out while we already have entry level ones (Bolt, Niro, Kona, etc). Not many in the mid range. This should be pretty cool.

It can have a retracting pano roof with a hatch. A number of Fords do. It's just unlikely with the curvature to the roofline. Edge and others are pretty flat.

The Cmax roofline isn't even as curved as that Mach-E looks, and its glass roof was fixed, non-opening, like Tesla's,

Count me in for another fan of the sheetmetal design. Can't wait for SEMA GT350/GT500 drivetrain swaps.
