People love to cite the W221 as a copy but the Maybach concept with an extremely similar rear end came out in 1997.

Looks way better on the two-tone Maybach.

Once you get past the grill it looks good. But still the grill alone is all the more reason to walk away from it.

This is the 4 series, the M3 should still have the 3 series current grille, no?

I kind of like the Lexus grill, especially compared to this. The Lexus grill was all brand new. So it wasn't like taking something that once looked good and destroying it, unlike what BMW did to their twin kidney grill which has looked better in the past than this.

Nope, M3 and M4 have shared the coupe/4 series front end the last 2 generations. No reason to think it will change.

Agree with about 90% of the posters here that the front end is terrible. The rest of the car is just fine, but man, what a butter face.

I don't like the grill on my m340i but this... this is the automotive equivalent of projectile vomit. Did Edsel Ford rise from the dead and possess the design team? Did the focus group consist of methed up chimps?

If a baleen whale ever needs dentures, it can contact BMW's parts department for a fix.

Who ever would have had the thought 'bring Bangle back?'. After getting Bangled years ago, then things calming down - now BMW is Hooydonking people. I don't know if it's worse to be Bangled or Hooydonked at this point.

Some photoshops of black grilles, but if your intent is to hide these things it's not gonna work.

And a shop of the 8 Series grilles on it

For some reason I find the hood lines that turn into the pig snout the most offensive part.

I think that might be the worst for me too. It implies that the car can't even contain the massive amount of grillness.

      Hahahahahahaha!!!!

This is so awful. I didn't think they could top the 7 series but they did.

      That guy's reaction was fantastic!

And it looks great with just that little change. WTF were they thinking?

It just doesn't work.

I love the mega-kidneys. It's like a big middle finger to all who hate radical changes. I love it.

Also, it's easy to fixate on one part of the picture. I think it will look fantastic in person and those kidneys will blend in perfectly. Can't wait to see the production version. This is beyond awesome. Actually makes 8-series look like a cheaper model.
