Yes, Nissan are so horrid looking, that I try to forget they exist.

Exactly this. I know designers that work for Toyota and when asked WTF is going on their they just shrug their shoulders. Also, the engineers must laugh their asses off when shown these designs knowing how much of that "Grill" they are going to block off. It's the modern day equivalent of the Landau(Fake convertible) top: They're not fooling anyone.

It's just based on the new Manta design language they are using now.

I think Lexus started this oversized grille nonsense a few years ago. Since Lexus is supposed to be the ultimate Japanese luxury car, I'm not surprised that the rest of the Japanese brands have followed suit.

Separate from that, have you looked are recent versions of the Prius?? Talk about ugly.

Back in the late 90's I worked at a Toyota dealer as a porter. The GM of the store had a demo Avalon with a TRD body kit at the time, and had a TRD Supercharger as well, all factory. I never say another one like it, and drove it a few times to get gas for it, and wash it. It was kind of a sleeper for the day.

I don't haaaate it in black — though it needs some fog lights or something in the bottom corners of the front end.

I'd be less offended by the grill if it was actually required to cool off some ridiculous amount of hp, but it's 90% closed off.
I keep up with traffic with only 90 hp. What's your superpower?

It's certainly up there. The KOTM Goji's Fire Godzilla mode is pretty badass too.

      Wrong. Audi did it.

They were even arrogant enough to give it a name. Singleframe Grille.
