      Hello everyone,

I was wanting to replace the incandescent interior lights with led's on my 2018 Passat GT. Do I need Canbus LED'S or standard? Thanks in advance for the help.

VW/Audi has been using CANBUS for detection of bulb-out for over 10 years. I'm pretty confident it applies to all models, but, it may be conditional. Certainly the reason for CANBUS is because being inside the car while operating it, you may easily miss seeing if an exterior bulb is out. For interior, it's pretty obvious. You can easily check -- just pull a bulb from a vanity light and see if you get a bulb-out warning on your dashboard.
