I always swore I would never do this. Too many things to try in the world. BUT...

I have a 2015 Mazda6 Touring that has been pretty flawless, but I've always wanted more power and my better half has always been bothered by the lack of heated seats. Our local Mazda dealer has a 2018 Mazda6 Signature (Turbo motor, LOADED) certified with only 350 miles asking about 10k off sticker (before negotiation).

It's the first car I've ever really considered buying twice.

Kind of. When our 3rd was born, we bought a Dodge Grand Caravan. Since then, we’ve leased a 2012, 2015 and 2018 Chrysler Town and Country (now Pacifica).

Each time, we’ve discussed alternatives but the wife is happy with the bells and whistles in the FCA van and reliability has not been an issue with the short ownership durations.

It’s a possibility. Currently have a ‘15 WRX that I enjoy very much. Fun to drive, awesome in the snow, reliable.
My wife has a ‘17 that checks the same boxes.
I was leaning towards a Tesla 3, but I don’t know if I’ll miss the 6 speed and fun factor.

I think I’ll wait to see the next gen subie and make my decision then. I’d have no problem buying another. Love the car(s).

Also Kinda. Went from an E92 montego blue 6MT to an E90 montego blue 6MT (because kids). that's the closest I've ever come. I guess technically we also replaced our 4th gen T&C with a 5th gen caravan, but it's not as much the "same" car so I don't think that counts.

I kind of want to buy another C5 Corvette, but this time a regular coupe with the hatchback and clear targa instead of the Z06.

We have... we had a 2015 Tundra SR5 and then traded to a 2017 Tundra Limited. It was too good of a deal to pass on based on the trade in value, and the new one had all the options we wanted as well as color. If the numbers worked, I'd do it again!

Not of the same generation, but have done this of different generations.

      That said, I'm strongly contemplating a MY20 Golf R

Kind of. I leased my Volt back in 2013. Got rid of it in 2015 and bought the BMW 7 series. Found the Volt for sale locally again late last year and bought it back for cheap and sold the E38. So, bought the same actual car twice as the DD

Yes. Our last family car was a 2016 Volvo XC90 T5 AWD Momentum. We liked it. When the lease concluded we got another one. This time a 2019 Volvo XC90 T6 AWD Momentum in a different color, 3rd row seating and a few more bells and whistles.

Sort of. I sold my 2014 1.8T Jetta SEL for a 2014 Jetta GLI S. But, the 1.8t was in an accident and it was a awesome offer. BUT, I've had thoughts of getting rid of the GLI for a newer (not 2019) GLI for heated seats, navigation, and sunroof..

      I bought 3 4th gen Accords and 2 4th gen Maximas. The 2nd 2 Accords were mistakes.

Same car different generations yes have had a mk1, 2, 3*, 4, 5, 6, 7 VW and even different models but on the same platform, but never technically the same car. Like my A3 and my JSW were both mk5/6 platform but technically not the same car. I would buy another 2nd gen dodge ram and want to replace my mk1 TT with another mk1 TT so I would totally do it, just haven't. But also not sure used cars like that really count, that happens all the time.

GFs mom totaled her 2017 civic and after looking at a few other cars like the impreza ended up with a 2018 civic. (these replaced a 2010? civic)

My grandfather would buy a new accord every few years, at some point I'm sure a generation change hadn't occurred and he had say a first year of a body style and a last year of the same one. They were all Gold on beige....

*mk3 was fixing and driving/selling brothers mk3 for him and also had a parts car at one point. so owned but not really.

Yes. Had a 2005 Honda Odyssey EX-L that I bought from the office. Drove it to 95k, then bought a new leftover 2010 Odyssey EX-L right before the redesign came out.

I've also strongly considered buying another Durango after this one.

Yes, when wife's 2016 Ram lease was up, we leased a 2018 Ram but with a better trim level and different color.

Yes, I just did this a year ago.

Had a disastrous rollover in my fully restored 1991 Miata and replaced it with a 1991 Miata about 8mos later

CRV to CRV to CRV and then back to a CRV.

The purchase price of all of them are less that $2000 total.

Yep. Oddly with a second gen Prius. Wife totaled the 266k mile first one. I found one with half the miles in the same color and trim and bought it for her.

      I hate those cars.

I'm laughing at myself after posting; I guess I was thinking of DDs in the same generation. Technically I've owned a Mk2 and a Mk3 Jetta, and have had three different NA Miatas at different points as weekend fun cars.

We are going to replace our 2017 Grand Cherokee with an identical 2020 Grand Cherokee in the fall. Only thing that might change is the color.

I had an '06 MINI Cooper S, upgraded after a couple of years to an '11 MINI Clubman JCW. It was way better in every way, but I got bored with it fairly quickly because it still felt so much like the other car.

      Yes twice actually...
2011 JSW TDI --> to a 2013 JSW TDI with Kessy and such (upgrade and the purchase price with the trade in amount was hard to pass up)

2013 Ford Explorer XLT (CPO) --> to a 2016 Explorer Limited <mid-cycle refresh> (basically got the purchase price of the 2013 and Ford special pricing for the 2016 with full warranty)
