Nothing too surprising here, basically a squared off version of the next GLA with a third row. The production version will debut later this year. Has basically the same interior as the new A and CLA, as well as the 2.0T from the CLA.

Reminds me of a Jeep Renegade. Not my cup of tea, but not bad either.

They should have given it round headlights to really connect it to the G-class.

The overall proportions vaguely remind of on old Kia Sportage.

Same. It's for the surprisingly sizeable consumer group who missed the boxy looks of the GLK.

I think that would've been a step too far personally.

I was expecting someone to suggest Subaru Forester.

Looks like a rounded version of this

The stitching is in a very peculiar spot. I've known a few ladies that could use that same stitching in the same areas.

      This is going to sell.

Surprised they're offering a 3rd row. Is this on a longer WB like China's LWB A-class sedan?

      I dig it.

I think the upcoming 'lil Bronco will be a competitor. Albeit with a steep discount. I'm wondering if the two will set off a new trend of boxy rugged CUV???

And with a third row, the GLB will compete with the Land Rover Discovery Sport. But I'm guessing that the redesigned Discovery Sport will be introduced soon so obviously the styling was locked in a looong time ago. So no rugged boxy styling. If the 2nd gen. Range Rover Evoque is any indication, the 2nd gen. Discovery Sport will be an evolution.

That microfiber suede... it's comfy material, but too overdone in the interior.

With that slit down the center, you'll be hoping for a cushy tushy.

That cabin treatment is a little bit broke back mountain.

This is absolutely gorgeous imo and will sell like hotcakes in Europe. Maybe less-so in American because of the Jeeps available.

Nice looking SUV. Urban Soccer Moms may want a slightly less aggressive Wheel/Tire package. Integrated trail lights are interesting, cargo carrier looks very shallow, can't have much storage volume.

The GLA starts at $33,950 and the GLC at $40,700.

So I'm gonna guess the GLB will start at $35K-37K. So add a couple of options package and you're looking at in the low $40K.

These are going to be everywhere.

Third row to make it more appealing as a brat hauler

Plus cute fake pretensions of offroad/ruggedness

      Relatively affordable + Mercedes emblem

Yeah...this thing is going to sell like fish sandwiches at an Indigo Girls concert.

Too bland and lacking Mercedes grace and elegance. Just a Renegade with a MB logo.

      Hard pass.

Ummm I think we all know this will be much better built and better driving than a Renegade.

I’ve been cautiously optimistic about the GLB, but the photos of this cheesy version still leaves me unsure of whether it will look chintzy and slightly cartoonish in person. The A-Class interior is good so we’ll see

I quite like it. But I don't understand it.

It appeals to the people who want to have an offroader, to haul their 6 kids to tug of war in the middle of the woods/desert/other off-road shenanigans?

It's a weird combination. The reality of course is that the thing will only be driven off road for maybe .1% of its global combined driven miles... but then that means the top mounted lights are superfluous, or downright illegal depending on the country (probably). Ah well, half of the shown configuration will probably be tucked away in options / packages somewhere, so maybe you can customize your vehicle to be a 5 seat offroader, of a 7 seat onroader on the whole.

It's just a concept. They had to make it uhmmm... interesting and "edgy" to appeal to confused millenials or something. "Take your 6 millenial friends and go off-road over some boulders in the woods and get eaten by bears". Production version will have none of it.

Yep, will do well. Third Row. Fake offroad looks so husband looks tuff when driving and wife looks cool going to spin class. High end logo so neighbors wonder if they have money leaving PTA meetings. It literally checks all the suburban check boxes. I will have to make sure my wife does not see this as she is due for her SUV replacement in about a year or so.
