Hi all - not sure which forum to post this in...

We have a mk7 R with the 19” Pretorias and an Alltrack with 17” rims (valley I think they are called)

Anyhow my prets have a small knick in them, and the valleys got some rash on a part. I would like to touch up these parts before I put them back on (both are our summer rims), but I haven’t been able to figure out where and how to get touch up paint for them.

Does anyone know where you can find these paints? I couldnt even begin to figure out how to find the paint code for them.

Thanks in advance!

I have never heard of VW offering any kind of wheel touch up paint, and based on my experience silver can be very difficult to match/spray properly.

You might be best off dropping your damaged wheels of with a wheel restorer. There seem to be more and more of these types of businesses and they can easily address some rash or chips in your finish. Having the wheels off your car will make things even easier.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I ended up swapping the Alltrack wheels back on anyways. Then yesterday my wife hit the curb when trying to get around someone... yay. Now they it’s totally forked and completely needs to be redone. But it was the same one that had the scratch so it’s just one.

I do still want to touch up a nick on my Rs 19s... so I’ll try to figure out something. I may even clearcoat the scratch so it doesn’t rot

I bought this set of Wurth wheel silver and clear last year, but haven't used it yet. Looks promising for an affordable DIY solution to a total refinish. There are several different kits available depending on how many complimentary products you need on prep and primer etc, but the silver and clear paints are common to all.

Quick update. I bought this kit and it was fantastic. I tried it on some older Porto wheels I kept from a 2012 TDI Sportwagen which I use as my R winter wheels which had some old really bad scuffs.

I sanded the corrosion off but didn’t use any filler. Yes you can tell there were gouges but I don’t care since they are my winter beater wheels. No more black corroded spots and the color is perfect. Shine is a bit off but I’m sure I could buff where I painted and blended. I’m going to repair those 17” Valley wheels and I’ll take a before/after pic of the repair.

Next step is to track down the right color for my Prets!
