Rumor has it that 87 dipped below $2/gal just south of me in Springfield VT. It was $2.13 in Claremont NH yesterday.

Lowest out here is $1.33, but average is $1.69 at most places.

Maybe a dumb question, and maybe already answered in this thread. Why is the difference between regular and premium (typically 93 here) now about 80c? Used to be typically 10c jump to mid then another 10c jump to premium, now it's about a 40c jump between them, don't really care, just curious what the reasons were.

That's a gap that's been growing for about a decade now, but I agree, it was always +10 cents per grade for most of my life, now the gaps get really big.

I started driving a car that required 91 in late 2010. It was 13c/L more than regular. Now it's 20 cents, but the overall price of gas is basically the same (well actually cheaper now). It's just gouging.

adrew, my friend in Stillwater just posted this...

it was $1.59 in Stillwater this morning but OKC and Tulsa have already hit $.99
Those prices are just insane. we only just tipped below $2.00 here with many stations still at $2.2X.

I know! I filled up both cars two weeks ago (@2.50ish) and haven't driven anywhere since then but looks like it's $1.39 at our Costcos.

      We're just now getting close to $2/gallon for 93, $1.50 for 87.

If premium would drop to $1.39 per gallon like in OKC that means I'd be spending $31 per week in fuel instead of $64. That's $1,716 in savings per year, or better yet, $143 per month.

I'd fill my tank, but it's been 3/4 full for the last 2.5 weeks

Grocery store is only 1.5 miles away, and there's really nowhere else to go.

$3.40 for premium near me. Makes no difference to me at the moment since both cars have been stationary for 10 days now.

Gas here is around $0.70/litre. Roads are empty and gas is cheap but I'm still stuck indoors.

      2.40 here...

      Don't care about gas prices, $2 or $4, the way I drive it's a $20/mo difference.

The EPA is suspending some environmental rules due to the pandemic. Refiners are saying they don't want to make summer blend this year, and are likely to get approval to stick to more profitable winter blend.
