Post #98 clarifies somewhat if you're not familiar with this.

To me it seems the reinforcement sticks out more than the screw did.
How does this provide more clearance?

      Looking good!

Since these are hard to find and mean taking the bumper off to instal I'm wondering what they do that a low profile screw couldn't? (besides look awesome)
Aren't the profile of these just as high as the screw was?
Do they also pull the bumper up more or something?
You had to get 2 pieces for each side correct? -one goes under the bumper than the piece you see attaches to that, right?

Thanks for the comments. Our 8p is getting old now so I try to keep it fresh.
In regards to the screw issue, removing it allows the bumper to pop out when rubbing as the secure point is gone. I did not like this result. I could not find a reasonable way to change the attachment point to another location. The screw area is cut off to allow part of the new section to be glued onto that area. Hence, the area now is free from additional material and no rubbing.
I noticed that my bumper area was getting scratched when the bumper popped out. After installing the said pieces, no rub and no popping.
As you know, the rs3 came with 19s. Audi came up with this design to accommodate that tire size. The mod was so popular that they have added it on to other lines. It is one of my favorite mods. We enthusiasts notice it right away.

Thanks again. I'm looking for these parts and am going to try and pull this off.
I don't know if I'm going to find them though.

      Maybe a dumb question:

I am getting my coilovers installed next week and then putting on my 19x8.5s. I don't think I will get any rubbing since I am only lowering about 1.25-1.5.

So those 4 part numbers with a few "dremel" mods to the typical A3 bumper will work for those little flares?

Rubbing depends on your wheels offset as well.

Thanks, I only found 2 places online that might possibly have those part #s still available.. both in Europe.
Placed an order, we'll see soon if it ships.

If you have problems with that order then ask Alex at Europrice

Good recommendation, thanks. I just came across him in the past week.
Looks like the parts have shipped though so lets see what shows up.

Maybe a dumb question, but do we need all 4 parts or can we just use the 2 brackets and not have to use the fender flare part?

      8P4 807 097 A
      8P4 807 098 A
      8P4 807 377 D
      8P4 807 378 D

The brackets seem to be widely available, but the flares not so much.

I wondered the same thing but the flare pieces need the brackets to screw onto.
You glue the flares to the bumper in either case but without screwing them into the bracket it makes the same difference as just removing the screws and stopping there.
You'd have more clearance but no bumper support like the screws were providing.
I found all 4 parts at BKS Tuning. Good luck!
