OP- you can buy the equivalent battery from Audi (IIRC it's the same group number/cca for a b7 a4) for cheaper if you really want, but I think it is still roughly $300+.

I'm really digging the silver. now that its clean and in the sun it looks very nice. thats all i got for now. next weekend is a cars & coffee here, going to take both down and have a good time!
OP - Nice car, those wheels are one of the best I have seen on a Porsche. The GTi is sweet as well, I had a Silver 83.
I currently work for Porsche. these cars are no joke
guy brought his 2002 Boxster in for basic service, an Oil Change, Alignment and car battery set him back $1200.00
brakes on these things command around $1700/axle.

Congrats! I miss my old 997.2 C2S a heck of a lot more than my 997.2 GT3. They are amazing cars.
Mods which I would consider to be somewhat essential:
1) Sharkwerks bypass
2) Gundo hack (if you don't have PSE)
3) H&R lowering springs
4) 991 sport lip
Past: 997.2 C2S, 997.2 GT3
Present: 991.1 GT3RS (PTS)
Future: Carrera GT
Late to this party, but wanted to offer my congrats! Beautiful car and color, but I may be biased.
My mod recommendations would include:
- DSC Sport controller for PASM
Enjoy the heck out of it and welcome to the club!

Congratulations to you! This is a great purchase, especially if you've been dreaming about it. The colour is gorgeous! At the expense of the inspection, you really changed only the wheels? Was the car all right? For me, this is quite a rare phenomenon, usually when I buy a used car, I do digital vehicle inspection and find a number of problems that have to be eliminated before passing the inspection.

also met up with the previous owner. part of the deal was an oil change, so we did that, very easy.
