Mines also a base model plus LSD. Not having power windows doesn't bother me at all, I did however add power locks after the fact.

Granted according to this thread mines "bro'd" out but I wouldn't change a thing.

Priced out some leases for nicely equipped JLUs in Canada. Ugh. They are not cheap.

      Yeeeeeep.

The reason they lease so cheap is because when the dealer gets them back they sell them again, for a profit.

Yeah, why lease when these retain their value so damn well? Worst case, trade it in 2 years for a couple grand off? (Plus paying excise on another 45k car..)

I have no idea. It obviously doesn't make any sense in Canadia.

In the USA it makes a ton of sense if you're gonna get rid of it anyways.

Roll down a Jeep window, damn that's fancy. Some of us have to reach over and unzip our passenger window.

I'm not saying I wont buy another one, but it would have to be a second vehicle, not a primary mode of transportation.
I had 3 JKUs, since they debuted, so that's like 11 years of continuous Wrangler driving.
In the last year or so, of my last one, I just felt beat-up and nervous driving on the highway.
Emergency maneuvers and passing idiots on cellphones became worrisome.
I knew that I couldn't drive it like an asshat in BMW, but sometimes I'd be late to catch my train, and I'd need to "hustle".
Motivating it at "urgent" highway speeds became a white-knuckled affair.
I just got tired of it as highway car.
It's not really a criticism of the vehicle. I just got older, and the things that didn't initially bother me about the Wrangler started to slowly wear away at me.
I'd get used one in a heartbeat, as long as I still have the GTI for highway use.

Nice review. You should mention it in other threads every once in a while.
Don't mod the damn thing. Hold out for the next one and buy it a year or two old with somebody else's disposable money slapped on (i.e. LED lights, rock rails, better axles, paracord grab handles add like 7 bro points)

Oh your fancy Jeep has windows? I don't even have doors for mine anymore

As predicted with the onslaught of JLs out there, the 08-11 are getting stupid cheap. Soon.

I mean technically when I cut the suspension off 2 years ago it didn't have doors either .. but they are back now for storage purposes. Do still want some full doors though, wish it wasn't 800 for some rust and cracked plastic in the shape of a door.

Haha don’t worry I really hate mud. That was mostly sandy runoff in the small creek. Did have to use all the Rubicon goodies to do some of the level 3 trails out there but it did them with ease. Probably could have done some of the advanced level 4s if I had 35s on it and no other mods. It’s a really, really impressive piece of kit and so much better in every way than my 10A JK Rubicon was.

First year model + FCA = potential

Also, I honestly wasn't sure I'd like driving the Jeep long term. See "Road weary" in this thread. A lease seemed like a cheap, low-risk way to test the waters. I'm happy with my decision so far.

You should have a ton of equity at the end of the lease no? Buy out and keep or sell... problem solved!

Found a guy selling takeoff rock rails for $150

      Really completes the look IMO.

Took it in for its first oil change today at ~8100 miles. Oil change, tire rotation, and the assorted inspection gobbledygook. Walked up, no appointment at about 815, drive out at about 9 with $0 out of pocket. Didn’t even bring it up, guy said “oh first change, guess it’s on us.” Had a decent sprinkle donut while I waited. Only downfall is they didn’t wash it but whatever, NBD.

I also inquired as to the rear glass for the hardtop to fix the defroster, guy told me it would be sometime mid-May, I told him to just forget it because I’ll be back to the soft top by then. I’ll deal with it in the fall.

This is what we did for our first JKU. When you calculate the total number of payments we made over 3.5 years of ownership and what we got on trade when we got rid of it, the truck cost us about $100/month.
