They've all got a f'ton of money and they're getting old. I can't say I blame them for wanting to slow down.

A bit of a shame, but it wasn't realistic to expect them to do 5-8 of these trips a season. Just doing one has to be positively grueling. I tend to take a week to fully recover after an overseas flight as a 30-something, so to expect a bunch of older guys to be flying around the world every few weeks is a tall order. I'm sure that's part of the reason they bagged the "tour" part of the grand tour after a season and just did the studio stuff in England.

Looking forward to the solo stuff. Was a big fan of May's "Cars of the People."

They're not really old (59, 56, 49) but Clarkeson is "old" in terms of health and fitness. I don't see him lasting more than 15 years.

Hammond OTOH could probably keep going another 15 years.

I agree in that 5-8 grand trips a season is tough. The show though has become more "tour" than "cars." They rarely do a review and concentrate more on the travel.

They're "old" in terms of the physical demands on them. The Colombia and Mongolian trips looked pretty brutal.

      Are you kidding me?

Clarkson and May drink wine like V12s drink petrol. Clarkson especially was borderline sign-up-for-AA a few years ago when his mom died. May just drinks a bunch because he's a vintage crotchety old British man. Hammond would likely be the first to go if he doesn't get his constant crashing into things in order.

Honestly, with how ingrained each one is in the others' lives, once the first one goes, I wouldn't be surprised to see the other two hit the deck within the same year.

ANYWAYS, sad to hear, but I can't say I'm surprised by the new format. Oh well.
I would say I have a 7/10 success ratio with stuff my kids want to watch on Prime Video vs. Netflix. Lots of kids content on there. I watch some old shows (Entourage) plus the Jack Ryan series was really good.

Yeah, really! Like those old couples when one dies and the other goes within days or weeks afterward. The other two will simply lose the will to live.

Honestly, I hope May goes last and well beyond the other two. His old man stories when he’s 98 will be epic.

Unless I read it incorrectly, it states that's the case for this year, or rather this season, which spans into next year. So thereafter who knows. Perhaps their solo projects take off and we see them less, or not. Either way, I'm glad they're still on, and I'd rather have quality over quantity.

Although it was with TG, I would love to see an episode where they covertly enter Argentina to retrieve the allegedly crushed remains of their cars.

Hammond will be the first to go, at the wheel of a Ford, no doubt...

Upon my word I have had as much excitement on a car as in the air, especially since the R.F.C. have had women drivers. -James Byford McCudden

      I’ve never said, “huzzah”.

      For that, I’ll say, “HUZZAH!”
