That whole episode, but especially the ending was incredibly well done.

It's a real shame Ford didn't bring the 2000+ Mondeo here, it would have humiliated the N-Body and Stratus/Sebring and would have stood equal to the 6G Accord. But the Taurus's development had been long since amortized and the Contour had a poor reputation here. I also think the 2007+ Mondeo is a great looker.

The same thing is happening again now. Crossovers/SUV's are selling better now, so the american automakers are ignoring the more traditional car segments again. Only this time they are getting rid of them instead of just making them cheap as hell.

      I unbanned Patrikman.

I also originally banned Zuk & JIMP.

      Same here.

I think as a car culture (we are on a car forum) a lot of our shared views on vehicles can be traced back to shows like Top Gear, Fast and the Furious, Bullitt, Smokey and the Bandit, etc. I don't think we're losing James, Richard, and Jeremy, they're just going to do things a little more differently. The bond they have together is really what makes the show. The reality is that people need an outlet for their love of cars and seeing three idiots do all the fun and ridiculous things you'd ever want to do with your buddies has an incredible draw. They executed it well, they made it accessible to even non-car people, and they had fun.

There was one quick scene in the last episode where they got totally drenched in mud and for a split second you see all three look at each other, realized they'd totally ****ed themselves as a group, then just burst into collective laughing. It's the same reaction we'd have with all our close friends and the antics and humor is very real. It made TG/Grand Tour real and inspired passion. I hope it doesn't entirely go away as it's played such a great part in our collective love for cars.

The last episode was fantastic. To echo what others have said, Top Gear had a huge impact. It was a huge part of my childhood, and as someone who's been a viewer for about a decade (half my life at this point) I'm definitely sad to see it start to fade. I've had friends who don't like cars watch some episodes like the Bolivia special and love it just because of the great dynamic. But, circle of life I guess, all good things come to an end.

Only 2 episodes a year for the new format...

      https://drivetribe.com/p/the-grand-t...T3eQlD_Y4kd-rA

The Grand Tour Season 4 will return for just 2 episodes a year

Executive producer Andy Wilman has confirmed that viewers will only be getting a double dose of Clarkson, Hammond, and May in the forthcoming series of The Grand Tour due to a substantial format overhaul. Earlier this year the last episode of The Grand Tour Season 3 aired, in which a teary eyed Jeremy Clarkson explained that the show would be moving towards a specials-only format. in which there would be no studio, track, or challenges.

The assumption was that while the tent and all that would be gone, fans would still be getting a pretty sizable amount of content every year. Well apparently that isn't happening now. Because in an interview Executive Producer Andy Wilman said that fans should expect just 2 episodes this year; one around Christmas, and the other in the springtime.

Well there's a few good reasons as to why the Grand Tour has been cut down. First and foremost is the fact that making a special takes a lot of time and effort. Traveling around the world with cameras, crew, and many cars is very expensive and time consuming. Second, Amazon has recently announced that Clarkson, Hammond, and May will all be making solo projects with Amazon Prime Video this year. As such giving them less time to work on the Grand Tour.

While this is disappointing to fans of the show, we can all expect two pretty incredible episodes; especially considering the time and effort that went into them. We will also see three new shows hosted by each individual presenter, giving us plenty of content from the trio.

That's not technically true---looks like they will be doing their own thing, separately, on Prime. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

I find myself watching more of Hammond's and May's solo stuff, but Clarkson's War Stories was damn good.

I never watch Prime Video, I do it for the shipping alone.

ANYWAYS, sad to hear, but I can't say I'm surprised by the new format. Oh well.
