I'd rather get the Nismo 370z that has a manual transmission and will be more reliable in the long run.

It's cheaper than the "Supra", too.

      I suppose that explains it

It's been 10 years now. How much longer are they going to milk this car? And are people still buying these?

The rest of the market has moved forward in that time though. Look at what else you can get for the money. MANUAL M2, GT350, 718 Cayman, Corvette Stingray, Camaro 1LE........

When your performance car is slower than a Porsche for the same money you have failed.

I can't say that I've driven a 340i, but BMW engines are in fact well known to be pretty good performance wise. Assuming both have the same performance outputs both engines will still have different characteristics and dynamics, there's no doubt about that. The true question is that if it's worth a $20k markup? It's a serious question and the answer will probably depend on an individual.

Yes, at the same rate as the RS/R/CTR/STI etc...They are selling very well.

What's the value proposition of a Supra over a 370Z? Bear in mind a ~$35K Sport gives you 99% of the NISMO's goodies for 2/3 the price. What does the Supra give you for that extra ~$20-25K?

Huh I feel like I never see new ones (or maybe it's because they just all look the same still )

I agree that power isn't everything but BRZ sales have fallen every year since 2013. More people would have bought them if they had more power.

You can’t answer that and neither can he. First drives aren’t even out.

Also, electronic e-brake? In my eyes a manual handbrake would be much more fitting in a car like this.

Right, but the launch edition is $55k and I'm guessing it's that or the ~$53k premium model in every picture you posted.

Agree, and on that note, the rear calipers appear to be single piston. On a well-balanced $50k sports car that's kind of a disappointment too.

This is the second time I've heard this about this car. How often do you use the handbrake outside of parking?

For hills, if hill hold (a 30+ year old feature) isn't available, learn how to drive stick Plus this is auto only anyway. Weird complaint

So a parts bin BMW in Toyota clothes. And just as with the 86/FRS/BRZ it's the OTHER company who basically did all of the heavy lifting. Color me unimpressed.

At this point Toyota is just phoning it in.

And the styling...yeesh. The Ambiguously Gay Duo's car brought to life. Maybe in the flesh it will look better, but for now it is REALLY disappointing imo.

They literally just reskinned another car.

If my memory serves me properly, the AGD's car in flesh color would only make it worse.

I've been letting this one marinate a bit since the pics firs leaked, seeing if my opinion would change but... I really don't like it. The overall shape is ok but there's not a single, exterior, visual detail that I really like.

From the weird flop toupee roof shape, to the odd strakes and cut lines, it's just "off" in every way for me.

True, in the end do exactly the same, but Toyota was trying to cater this Supra to enthusiasts and purists. It's not so much the function, but the general aesthetic and spirit of the car.

It may look like that I'm hating on the new Supra, but I'm just disappointed, that's it. I was actually hopefull that it would be a car that I could move into in a few years, but honestly it didn't deliver to me. My expectations weren't unrealistic either, I was hoping for 350-400HP, a nice interior that would make the car unique (and not a BMW parts bin) at starting price of $38k-$40k. We all know what came of it. The car was teased and hyped for 10 years, if it lives up to the hype and the legend of the nameplate we shall see once it's on the showroom floors.

Not really, it is more like you just cannot afford the REAL Toyota 2 door coupe - aka Lexus LC and it is a very nice coupe. MAY BE you can wait for this one...
