IMHO, Kilmer is one of the best car-related YouTubers. This old-timer mechanic gets it. He has so much experience under his belt that he craps on car makers whenever they do something new on modern cars. From new tech, to stupid things in cars, to unreliability, and so on, he's on it.

I'm a millennial, but I get it also. Not sure if many of you have seen my posts and replies, I have strong opinions, concerns, and questions whenever there are new technologies put in cars. I question everything since I also have experience with mechanic stuff (I'm a certified YouTube mechanic, just to be clear ).

He has a lot of good videos ranging from DIYs to talking about car topics. Here's a good example of his stuff:

If he's less annoying than Doug DeMuro then we're already ahead.

He's pretty much like my 65 year old uncle who discovered YouTube.

Sometimes funny, sometimes annoying, sometimes helpful.

Don’t get why he has so many subs.

Never heard of him. Watched a few videos. Didn't learn anything new and was bored after about 2 minutes into each video.

You think he's annoying? Think of his neighbors.

They have to listen to him screaming out in his driveway for hours at a time.

I find his delivery a little annoying, and his low production value fascinating. His takes are a little old fashioned, but every once in a while I learn something. He's harmless.

It's not so much his schtick that gets to me, it's that he's a typical old school mechanic that hasn't been in a classroom in twenty years and refuses to acknowledge any changes or updates in technology.

My favorite video of his was him working on a modern BMW, I think it was a 335i with an N54, and he was going on about how it was important to use the correct oil for the application... All the while holding a bottle of conventional 20w-50.

      DeMuro is a shill

TheStraightPipes aren’t as bad, but they still give too positive of a take for everything

      +1.

Basically if car X has a common problem, it's completely horrible and should be avoided. 100% of people who bring car X to his shop for the common problem have the common problem. Confirmation bias at its finest.

Initially I thought he was annoying, but the points he makes make a lot of sense to me. His "in you face" delivery isn't the best I'll admit to that.

Ah yes, the mid 90's Celica. The pinnacle of automotive technology and performance.

(seriously, all this guy does is boast about how great of a car it is because he owns one and how everything else is **** in comparison with too many gizmos. Out of touch shadetree).

And yet i'd still rather watch him than Demuro.
