CSB: i actually stumbled across this 'hack'... rear blade was getting old and started to tear at the hinge part between the blade portion and block portion. I cut the blade portion off so it wouldn't catch and left the block on so the wiper arm wouldn't scratch or crack the rear window, and ordered new blades from rockauto. they mailed the wrong blade. In the meantime i tested out my blade-less wiper, and voila!

I can't remember the last time I replaced a rear wiper blade. Windshield, absolutely, often sooner than probably necessary. Where I've been doesn't interest me as much.

Sure did. Started up the Mazda5 to go to the in-laws' house and was gifted a check engine light. P0171. Have an appointment to have Mazda look at it on Monday. And hopefully it'll be covered by warranty since the car is only 3.5 years old and only has 25k on it.

Other than that, Hot Wheels, which are always great.

I gave a car related gift. My dad liked my dynamic mirror blinkers, so I got a set for his A4. Still need to install, but with his heated garage, no problem this time of year.

      Great gift.
a more interesting gift would have been four used tires on four used rims with slight damage around the lug nut holes.
And your scissor jack is now missing.

If you have a 5 cylinder, you don't need a stereo.

Nice, two Euro Ford books in the thread! I guess it doesn't really count (but kind of), eBay had a 15% off sale and someone had just listed a 2007-8 Legacy radio, they have a factory aux and steering wheel control inputs, and usually go for $200+. I got it for $46
