Supercup ran there in 2004. Could have been other years but that was when I was there. It was spectacular.

My 1st thoughts about that was the same. I did quite a few IMSA Saturday’s just to see the PWC. I think Porsche cup would be an excellent addition to Indy weekends. IMSA has the Michelin cup now so no real loss. PWC(Blancplain) has gone downhill, GT3 is flooded.

Felix Rosenqvist's first pole in IndyCar! Not too shabby.

Rossi got punted but all in all, a pretty clean start into turn 1.

Rossi's crew looks like they are scratching their heads, what happened to that "NAPA Know How"

Bummer if he's out this early

      Argh. Rossi is -4 laps

Unless it rains on and off where people are switching between slick and wets and something freaky happens, it's game over for him.

Decisions Decisions. Slicks or wets? Someone is gonna choose correct. I love races like this where strategy and speed come into play.

I hope Penske dumps Pagenaud at the end of the year. Honda needs Pagenaud back.

My buddy from HPD was texting me as it was ending (on-site) and he echoed my sentiments about Simon needing to be back in a Honda next year.

That is the rumor. Also part of the rumor is that McLaren full-time with two car team powered by Chevy and Penske to switch to Honda.

But don't Penske have a stake in Ilmore? Or they dumped it. I'm sure Roger has a few Honda/Acura dealers. But still.

Whoa, the Indianapolis Speedway's youtube channel uploaded the 1994 Indy 500.

That was the year of the Penske-Mercedes freight train. I remember watching that race in awe And I remember at that time(?), Lola whipped up a special version of the Lola Indycar that was designed especially for the Buick V6. The car addressed the lump of an engine that was the Buick V6 with better balance.

You can tell by the hunchback engine cover. I remember those Lola Buicks were stupid fast. But fragile.

There's a deal being considered to link his IMSA program with the IndyCar program making one huge Honda banner.

Then would Penske being the designated supplier and support party for the NSX GT3 to various customers unreasonable?

That part hasn't come up in conversation. I don't see why we'd change our current distribution system, but it'd sure be nice to see the entire program under Roger and Tim's control.

Dumb question - are full races available anywhere for streaming after the events are over?

That's not a dumb question. I really don't know because I'm usually either attending the race or watching it live.

Yeah - I was talking to my BIL about how great this year has been - I want to start watching races again, but my Sunday schedules are alway iffy. Gotta start programming the DVR I guess.

Fantastic race, epic drive by Pagenaud.

Stood in stark contrast to the Ambien-like parade that was the Spanish Grand Prix. F1 is somehow even more boring this year.
