The 4Runner developed a very odd, annoying noise on the way home yesterday. I had it looked at this morning and mechanic friend says it's gonna need a transfer case. Okay, well, whatever.

Just for fun, I text a buddy who buys and sells Toyota's for money. Told him what was up, he offered me $4,200 for it. Sold.

Now, this same day our friendly used car dealer in Chicago tells me about this minty one owner E46 that came in today. 2004 325i, 87,000 miles, manuel. Well, that sparked my interest. Enough so that I'm flying to Chicago on Friday to drive it home.

Onto the pictures. There are a few little things here and there, but it's 14 years old, this is to be expected.

Looking forward to commuting with a manual again (I don't sit in traffic, it's 46 miles of twisties).

Well, I hope this works well for you.

Starting to look like you need to now go find yourself a Miata and your garage will be complete for at least a few months.

Congrats man, glad this situation presented itself for you.
      A loving welcome from TCL

It's a base 3-series with halogens and no sport package. Don't feel too badly.

I will say the price was a little more expensive than the PR but not by much....

The whole thing started with me wanting to buy it and turn it into an autocross toy so I can become racing champion. Its a shame I dont have like a 5 car garage with a 200ft driveway otherwise this thread wouldnt have happened.

Yeah, where's my killer buy on that 944 Turbo or 928S4 that you never get on trade?

That BMW's running Michelins? That's sufficient for me to know it was cared for. Should be a perfectly fine commuter.

However, it is RWD and manuel.

It'll be a lot more fun to drive on my commute than the 4Runner was.

She was a stubborn one. She wanted what she wanted. I offered her a 6k swing to take an identically colored A3 to her BMW and she said no. So she paid for what she wanted.

And.....this is, sorry Brandon, why I couldn't do an A3/S3 when I got the R.

Even in S3 I couldn't see pulling up in the same basic car a woman in my running group drives.
