      We went out to visit my g/f's family and explore Kaua'i. Kaua'i is my favorite island in Hawaii, so beautiful. I wanted to hike the Na'Pali Coast for a third time but permits were sold out back in January. Good thing too, the trail is completely closed after all the crazy flooding they got back in April. We explored Koke'e State Park (above the Na'Pali Coast) and did some awesome hiking. After that we rented a 1996 Dodge Van and lived in it for a few days. Great trip!

      We decided to hike Honopu ridge after some dinner. The clouds broke up a bit and it was beautiful!

      We woke up the next morning to hike the Awa'awapuhi trail in Koke'e State Park. The trail is about 3.2 miles one way, and downhill for most of the way to the end. It brings you out onto a knife edge ridge overlooking the Na'Pali Coast.

      The next day we decided to check out Waimea Canyon and hike the Canyon Trail

      After that we tried hitting another lookout for a different hike but the weather wasn't cooperating. We decided to head back into town (we had a reservation at a local B&B). We hit up a little food truck area for lunch and shave ice:
