Hi, I saw that this issue comes up a lot on these trans or clutches. I recently bought a 2002 gli and when driving it kind of hard or when the rpms are high shifting from 2nd to 3rd grinds. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix it besides getting a new clutch, like cable/bracket bushings or a new clutch hose or something?

Try replacing the bushings for the 3/4 gear. Otherwise I think you are on track with replacing the clutch.

A new clutch won't fix the problem. I have the same issue. It's the synchro for that gear. The gears aren't aligning correctly. I had a new clutch installed a few months back (not because I though it would solve the grinding issue but because my slave slyinder failed) and I still grind gears when I drive/shift aggressively. If you baby it/shift slow, it shoudln't grind. Kinda sucks when you want to have fun but 3rd is only one gear.
Neuspeed CAI install on my VR6, you should check it out.
