It isn't known how similar it will be to a Ranger. Past Broncos beyond the first one have been pickup trucks up to the B pillar (first F150, then Ranger). I suspect this one won't look like a Ranger with the box covered over.
The teaser image released by Ford, clearly indicates that the new Bronco won't look like the Ranger.

Other than knowing Ford's "Gillette" grille came and went in the years since, I think it still looks pretty fresh.

It's probably going to fool a lot of people who see the movie into thinking it's the new one coming out.

That has already happened many times. I'm on the most active early Bronco forum on the web and in several social media groups for early Broncos and can't count how many times the 6G Bronco fan created concept or the 2004 Ford concept have been touted as the 2020 model.

I will say Ford has done a good keeping what they are doing under wraps. Not that I'm happy about it.

This is Ford's own image, so it damn well better not.

Dear butthurt bro, might I recommend some petroleum jelly?

While I used the words "reminds me of.." it doesn't mean that it does not evoke the '65 Bronco - that's the whole point of going retro like J Mays did with the Thunderbird. What you may have failed to notice though was the rounded front end when viewed from the side, as well as the lack of the bulge on the hood both of which are more LR90 than '65 Bronco. I was referring specifically to the renders which Ryukein clarified it won't be like.

Here's how I can help you with some visual clues:

      Ford Bronco Render/Concept: (sideview)

      Land Rover 90: (sideview)

      Ford Bronco 1965: (sideview)

Now let's try frontal 3/4th view where you'll notice a lack of the side fender 'ridge' on the 2020 Bronco and LR90 compared to the original Bronco

Ford Bronco Render/Concept: (frontal 3/4th) see the hood bulge and rounded fenders

Land Rover 90: (frontal 3/4th) see the hood bulge and rounded fenders

Ford Bronco 1965: (frontal 3/4th) no hood bulge and ridged fenders

Let's try this again. Side by side with original and render. Note what I was specifically talking about - front end when viewed from the side. Definitely can remind you of LR90:

Also, while you only "clearly" saw Honda instead of VW Golf Mk1, it is a known fact Japanese car designs were heavily derivative in that era - and most surely a lot of them inspired by Euro competitors. Peace

Not this **** again. The first-gen Civic was released two years before the MK1 Golf, and that Civic (and the concept) were heavily influenced by the N360/N600.

That's just a rendering, and not an accurate one.

Thanks for clearing that up. I honestly thought the reveal of the 2020 Bronco had been relegated to a 2"x2" photo in a magazine but you set us all straight.

Ease up. Do you know how many people see spy photos of mules and then keyboard rage at how the new ______ looks exactly like the old ______? I know that's not the case here. It's just an example of how often folks misunderstand what they're seeing.

Exactly. Or how many people have seen renderings of the Bronco and thought that it's what the real thing will look like...........

Another design by Mo Aoun. Ryukein should be along shortly to let everyone know this isn't the real thing.

That's just another unofficial (fan guess) rendering.

      You mean 6 weeks ago?

Yeah, I think that is what sparked the excitement.

Source Confirms 2020 Ford Bronco Two-Door and Four-Door Variants, What Is Redback?

      https://www.tfltruck.com/2018/09/202...iants-redback/

A credible insider source has a frame shipping slip that describes Ford Bronco 3DR and 5DR models. In other words, the source claims that the upcoming Ford Bronco will be available in two-door or four-door configurations. The truck frame shipment is going from Canada for Ford of Australia. It includes truck frames for the Ford Ranger, Ford Bronco, and a model labeled as “Redback” (more on this below).
      2020 Ford Bronco

It makes sense that the new Ford Bronco would offer both two-door and four-door configuration, if it aims to be a serious off-roader and compete on equal footing with the likes of the Jeep Wrangler. Ford officially release just two images for the upcoming Bronco. You see both of them in this article.

What is the Ford Redback? The shipping slip lists “Redback” under the Model designation alongside the Ranger and Bronco. Historically, there is a high performance exhaust system in the Australian market for the Ford Ranger pickup truck and other Ford vehicles. As far as we can tell, the Redback exhaust is not sold directly by Ford.

Could Ford be considering a special performance version of the Ranger and/or the Bronco with a Redback designation? We do not have more information on it at this time.

One thing is clear – the 2019 Ford Ranger and 2020 Ford Bronco are highly anticipated by truck and off-road enthusiasts everywhere. We look forward to learning more and driving these machines as soon as possible.

I highly doubt a production car would be that high off the ground.
