They have a few of the Speed Champions sets... I'd love to get that Technics 911, but it's a bit spendy.

Not car related, but we have the Saturn V sitting in the box all set to go - not sure when we'll get to it though as I tracked down a Harry Potter castle for Christmas that will take a while to build.

Why has it taken me this long to find this one? I have a serious issue with these damn things. I drag my gf all over to find them, randomly disappear in the grocery store and emerge with new scores. I've also acquired my late friends hoard of over 500+ in box from the past few years. Im estimating I have over 1000 hot wheels/matchbox spread out between my father's house and my house but my biggest issue is displaying them without taking over the entire bedroom/living room/dining room walls . It has gotten to the point where I had to stop collecting the American cars and focus solely on the european cars/car culture series and the select jdm cars.... Is there a sort of AA for this thing

My current desk lot. The red 4Runner is my favorite because I had one just like it minus the gold decals.

These are my cars from when I was a kid. Most are from the early 60s I built the box from a picture frame and made the pegs from brad nails. Sorry for the reflection.

Anybody here order the new HW Car Culture Japan Historics 2 set? I ordered a few cases from A&J Toys but Mattel didn't supply them enough to fulfill all the orders, so I ended up only with one. In the meantime, these are probably being hoarded by scalpers at Tarjay and Wally World

I have an obscene amount of Hot Wheels and other various 1/64 stuff (Jada, Johnny Lightning, Greenlight etc.)

I haven't bought much the last few years but I have thousands of cars. Collected a ton when I was kid, kept all those. Then collected into adulthood.

Yup, Mattel increased the size of the blisters and gave them a 75 cent-$1 hike.

I made the mistake and only bought a few cases of the JH1 for just me and a couple friends when they came out. These were HTF in my neck of the woods, saw only a few on the pegs since nothing "JDM" in my part of California stays on them long. I go anywhere else, and they're much easier to hunt for.

I grew up with Hot Wheels/Matchbox and still have most of them,
but haven't really actively collected any as of late.

Even when I was a kid I had a preference for Matchbox due to they were sprung better with grippier tires, the Hot Wheels had hard slicks and were too stiffly sprung --- my performance criteria came from us playing "roll down hill" to see who could go the farther LOL we'd pick out our cars and roll them down with the winner being the one that rolled the most distance. Matchbox usually won.

Hot Wheels has been killin' it lately though and there are some that I simply cannot walk by without buying...

...just yesterday I was at Kroger grocery shopping and saw this gem.
Ain't no way I couldn't not throw it in the buggy!

A couple of moths back I stumbled across an Alfa GTA at Wal-Mart.
      An Alfa GTA!!!!
      Too cool.

It was the premium all-metal version with soft tires too.

And like the OP, I had to have the outlaw 356.

I’ve got a little nook in the unfinished part of my basement where I built a little office, and then in between the studs I put some 2x4s to hold my collection. Cheap and simple, but it works.

Cool. I got one too. The only way I can afford to own one.

I like this idea and could do this in my garage. Just afraid of all the dust they will collect. I now have three drawers dedicated to NIB Hot Wheels/Matchbox and some other one offs. Sure would be nice to get them out where I can see them.

      One of the three drawers...

Also picked this up a little while back.

My little collection, no spot for them unfortunately. I try to stick to T-shirts. As of late I've got back into it as there a lot of very cool main line.

Picked up a few more yesterday. I was actually looking for a MK7 GTI in Gulf livery I have been seeing but no luck. I feel like stores either have a **** load of Hotwheels/Matchbox or they have like three...

Someone's got to make some sort of display that allows you display them while still in their packaging. I have well over 50+ still in their packaging but don't have a proper way of displaying them.

You could buy a 4' x 8' sheet of pegboard and pegs. I am going to do something similar but I am using 2' x 2' DeWalt display panels and pegs. I am a rep for them so I have a huge stash of panels and pegs.

That's not a bad idea but I'm thinking of stacking one behind the other and having several vertical rows to save some room. I could use the peg board and just find a divider that'll let me slide them down into the rows.

There are some ideas online for storage/display units that allow you to keep them in the packaging.
