I don't have the space to safely store a bunch of guns, and honestly I don't really want to.
I enjoy hunting deer/elk, boar, and so on. I also enjoy long range target shooting. 1000 yards would be nice to keep shooting at. Locally, I haven't found anywhere that I can get much more than that.
I currently have a DMPS AR-15 and a Savage Arms 110 BA 308. The AR is chambered in .223 and has a 16.5" barrel. Not the best setup for hunting. The Savage Arms is super accurate, but on the heavy side (17 lbs loaded).
If you had to pick one rifle and caliber to hunt and shoot long range with, what would it be and why?
