It really is. Last day of the auction today. I'm half hoping it doesn't sell.

Then why do so? It'll be pulling even harder at your heartstrings if you sell it.

I don't need two E30s. This convertible is a nicer car than the coupe, but I prefer a coupe. That's what the decision came down too.

To your earlier point, it's hard to see a nice car leave.

I understand both points. It doesn't make it easy, though. C'est la vie.

OP, I was going to ask, are you happy with BaT and the end price? As expected I had to tap out when it broke 5 figures...that's a bit too much to surprise Ms. ghost with lol. At any rate that was probably at the lower range I expected to see considering the seats and top and whatnot, but I think you got a good return, and can focus on the hard top now.

I thought it would hit 15, to be honest. Still a nice end result for a 318.

      Congrats on the sale.

I can relate to the feeling of letting a car you love go. But there is also a certain freedom that comes with it as well. Look forward to see you go at the coupe now.

I am happy with the sale price. Anything over $10k I felt was a good price. $15k was the max I thought it would go for.

One of the commenters mentioned if the paint and body were better it would have gone for over $15k. I think that is true. It's original paint with it's fair share of dings, scratches, etc. I really tried to highlight that in the photos, listing and comments. I corrected someone early on that was calling the car mint. IDK, maybe I'm crazy but one of my biggest concerns with an online sale is that the buyer gets the car and is disappointed or feels it was misrepresented.

Thanks for the interest and bids.

Given that we've had a couple TCLers that have bought cars on BaT and had that happen, it's nice to hear that somebody was trying to make sure that didn't happen.
