It was requested..(and it was a great idea).. that I start a thread of the multitude of cars/projects I am working on, much akin to Iroczgirl and 1985Jetta amongst others..

A CSB about me. I've always loved cars, and was a late bloomer, turning wrenches on them..starting out of necessity when I was homeless...living in my car (a 50 dollar Mk1 Jetta) many many years ago.

I'm a total kid of the '80's and have always loved box-flared fender cars.
Luckily, things turned around for me..and have come a long ways.
I've been able to get a few of these cars I dreamed about as a kid, back a few years ago when they were much cheaper to obtain.

      The fleet:
      1985 Audi urQuattro

Current status: in to year 6 of a nut/bolt restoration.
There's a ongoing thread of this here... https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ro-restoration

      1991 BMW M3

Current status: tucked back in the parts room awaiting new front rotors, new wheels and tires. Over the winter I will be re-spraying the front bumper and replacing the driving light and blinker lenses. It has only been driven 10 miles this year unfortunately.

1989 Lancia Delta Intergrale HF 16v (love the long formal name of the car)
Current status: moving on to another home.

1989 VW Golf Rallye (not my photo)
Current status: just sold. Was a parts car that I bought. Has a bad block and is getting a 1.8 block out of a Corrado swapped in.
I kept the car in my name just long enough so I could say that I owned the above 4 cars all at the same time.

      1987.5 Audi Coupe GT
Was a free car that I got when I bought the 4000 for parts.
Current status: runs/drives..wife wants to get into rally cross. This will be hers to beat the living snot out of.

      1986 Audi 4000 quattro
      Bought for parts.

      Current status: Being chopped up.

      2008 Ford F350
I drive a company truck 95% of the time, so the only road time this thing sees is pretty much towing a horse trailer every other weekend.

Status: just changed the oil today and replaced the right rear caliper.

      1996 GMC Sierra
Status: farm truck. it was free. It as a tired small block v8 that sounds great...but it can't get out of it's own way. It as a battery drain, a cracked EM and a slow power steering leak.

Not included in this list/these updates are my wifes cars and the company truck.

      Also in the garage:
An '84 Audi 4000 quattro and an '87 5000 quattro belonging to a friend.
I am helping him swap out the 10vt engine from the 5000 into the 4000.

      Yes, the place is trashed.

If you have a 5 cylinder, you don't need a stereo.

Sepp I believe we are long lost family.... You should probably put me in the will so o can look after these cars, it will be a burden. But I think the hassle would be worth it for me... Ughhh

You definitely need an Escort Cosworth though.

I would LOVE a T16 Peugeot...they, like all of the other Group B Homologation "specials" go for crazy money. Only if I win the lottery.
I'd also LOVE an Escort RS Cosworth...just simply awesome cars. They have spiked so fast in value (like all of the other "hot hatches")
That is one of the very few cars I'd trade my M3 for.

I feel incredibly fortunate for what I have.
I'll never forget where I came from and even just having a reliable "daily" that's insured and has a full tank of gas is just awesome.

Get yourself a Metro MR6 if you can find one I'll never forget seeing those being flung around the Circuit of Ireland in Group B guise...

I had a feeling this thread would be worth my while, and I'm leaving satisfied. That's a great fleet you have there.

The garage itself is super sweet, too.

Be sure to PM me when you are in PDX again, I'll be sure to try to give you the garage tour if you wish.
Or at least run you 'round the block in the Delta.
I met you at a show many many many years ago in Maine I believe.
I had a yellow Corrado back then.

Thanks all for the kind words.
      I'd love a Metro MR6...
That car, the T16 and the Delta S4 all were cheaper to buy than the Audi Sport Quattro back in the day. (new)

I lived on an Island in Maine and an Island in Nova Scotia....so it for sure could be easily seen as me living in Europe...let alone a different planet.

I was able to get a surprising amount of crap done today after work.

I received news that the red '84 4000 quattro belonging to my friend will be leaving the garage, and a Gobi '83 urQuattro will be taking its place for the engine swap.

....of which I have been working on the front fenders of his Quattro a little at a time.

The 5000 turbo is nearly ready to go to the junk yard, so I took a few minuets and pulled off the front calipers/brackets to use on my '85 Quattro.
This is a fantastic upgrade for the Quattros, of which the factory installed on the later 20v cars.

I installed a battery disconnect switch on the GMC, so it will actually start when I need it to.

And I finally had the chance to flip the '86 4000 quattro on it's side safely so I can pull the drive shaft, exhaust and cut the car into sections.

If you have a 5 cylinder, you don't need a stereo.

Will the newly acquired Lancia be making a debut after you receive it or does it need some TLC first?

Oh, and love your collection. As a child of the 80's I love every single one of them.

I'm on the east side of the Coast Range....love it out here.
The Lancia is ready to go out of the box. Naturally it'll get an oil change and a 1000000 point inspection before I run the piss out of it...but the car is solid and drives like new.

I was hunting for a 190 16v Cosworth for quite a while...some decent cars popped up on my radar, but I never jumped on them.
I didn't want to have it share the garage with the M3... as they would drink and get into fisticuffs every chance they could I'm sure.

It is great (and I'm very thankful) to have this dream become a reality.
It took a while to get these cars all one place.
I've owned the Quattro since 2001. I got it for 5 grand...the exact amount I had sold my MINT G60 Corrado for...'twas fate. 5 Grand was a lot of money those days.
I got the M3 back 6 or 7 years ago for a great price back then (cannot buy a roller for that price nowadays) plus my bank gladly gave me a loan for it...otherwise it would have never happened.
The Golf Rallye was a great deal as it wouldn't run...and it sat for 6 years...waiting for the day it would see the road again...all the while going up in value.
The money I got for the Golf went straight into the Lancia fund and I kicked in another half and got the Delta that way.

I worked a 14 hour day, but was able to sneak in a long lunch break and was able to start bead blasting some pesudo-rare Saab Shelby wheels for an upcoming project. (stay tuned )
