Congrats!! It's clearly got some ugly rot but seems to be overall in doable shape. This could be a really cool rolling project. Nice thing about having a panel is it's a classic you can actually use to haul lots of random crap as designed.

The rots actually not that bad, it has less areas with rot than our bay! Main spots are the front lower nose and the rockers.

It was an unexpected opportunity, so we weren't really prepared to drop a bunch of money on another project when we already have 4 hobby cars and 2 dailies between us. Not to say I'm not kinda upset, but we have first dibs should he change his mind. This just means the bay can get some more love now.

A few weeks ago, I went and got the bus ready for the road. Hooked up the batteries, warmed it up, did a compression test , swapped on the new warrantied muffler from Vintagespeed and changed the plugs. Compressions between 135-140psi across the board, the smoke was from storage spray, not engine oil.

Yesterday we finally got it out of the garage, as we are taking it up north for Victoria Day weekend. None of the lights were working properly in the rear, but a cleaning of the grounds resolved all the issues.

After fixing the lights the next morning, it was booked in for an alignment at my old place of employment. It was badly overdue, and the machine verified my suspicion that the alignment was terrible. Felt a bit better on the road afterwards, but not as big an improvement as I thought there would be.

It finally stopped raining and the sun even came out for most of the day, got in some drive time along the coast of Lake Erie. I truly enjoy driving this thing.

Good so far, though itís having starting issues again. Iím going to have to break down and finally install the hot start relay Iíve had in my toolbox for the last year.

Is it a relay or are you using a Ford fender-mounted starter solenoid? I use those (or a tractor unit) as they're heavier and if you want a really good one you may still be able to get Motorcraft, though for all I know they're Chinese rebox specials now.

I bought a high quality, high amperage weatherproof 5 pole relay through our parts supplier at my old work, but if you think itís better Iíll order up a ford unit tomorrow. The last couple days Iíve had to turn the switch on to connect the RV battery to the starting system to get it to crank.

Anyways, got hit with a massive windstorm today during the 4 hour drive home. These things are downright scary to drive in high winds. Made a minor detour so we could get a picture in Bobcaygeon, On, a town made famous by her favourite band, The Tragically Hip.

It sounds like you have it figured out. Since I can't verify the quality of most auto parts now as long as yours is designed for the load (which it apparently is, as it isn't that big of a load anyway) I'd run that one.

Neat! I've never heard of the town, though.
