Anyone breaking anything launching MK7's with a DSG yet?

I'm wondering what kinda 60ft's are safe.

You worried about breaking your drive-train with a K03 sized snail ?

After driving a stock AWD Volvo in FWD form for 9yrs because of broken OEM stuff.....yeah I'm worried!

I'm guessing I'll get the wheel hop smoothed out and take it up to the track a couple times on street meats. It'd be nice to read a bunch of people had put slicks on them and had a bunch of sub 1.8 60ft's on them.

fwiw "stage 2 tq will be at 400lb/ft so it's not that unreasonable to think something could break, although the hot side of the snail is the size of a small woman's fist!

There's been time slips from Stage 3 MK6 R's running 1.5x's 60fts. So I think you have a way to go yet. The MK7r Stage 3 kit is over 500hp and they're still running stock DSG... ran 10.8x before they even released the kit. Gives you something to go by at least.

Yeah I'm slowly but surely gaining faith. I'll be a lot happier when I can figure out a consistent launch procedure.

Seems very odd worrying about "safe" coming from you. Launch, boom, fix, repeat.

The open diff was my primary concern, plus there's no "U-Pull-It" yards with plentiful 2015 GTI's! But moreso, I still can't put in the work like I used to be able to pre-surgery. I didn't wanna break something expensive on an otherwise reliable car. (yeah I think I jumped the shark and turned official vortexer!)

      Damnit, where's my ambien?!?!
