      Hey everyone,

Over the weekend a friend of the car community up here in the frozen north was badly injured in a tobogganing accident at Kimberly Mountain.

Fractured his skull, pelvis, broke one arm, punctured lung, lacerated his liver and kidneys. Doesn't sound like he has any brain damage (was wearing a helmet thankfully) So we are hopeful he will make a full recovery.

Anyways, he owns a 2006 non-S Line fwd A3. Couple of our buddies are looking to surprise him and get it fixed up a bit for him since its a little worse for wear. I am donating my interior trim pieces (Arm rests, center grab handles, and window switches) as his are fairly chewed up from the previous owner having a dog. He was super excited to get his A3 back into tip top shape for this summer season, but now its not looking to good.

If anyone has any spare parts or is willing to help out it would be greatly appreciated! But of course even just your thoughts counts too.

      Pictures of his A3:

Oh yea, I am also ordering myself new fog lights so will be donating my old ones for his broken one as well, or maybe just order him a new one while I am ordering my set.

I will update on his condition and as well anything else that is getting covered off by our friends. I know they are looking into doing the body work for him since one of our friends works at a local body shop.

      Cheers,
      Ponto

Like I said, no worries if ya don't but just the thoughts and prayers for his recovery is always a good thing to have as well. I don't think he was ever active on these forums, but once he recovers I intend to direct him here lol. Not sure why I didn't prior!

Thanks for posting this Ponto, it means a lot. I went to high school with this guy and he is a super nice guy and he should be the last person for this to happen to. However, sometimes life sucks. Anyways, there is nothing anyone can do to change what happened, but we can try our best to make things better for him. That is why some friends and I had to idea to help our good friend out. We aren't asking for much, we are mostly concerned about getting all the maintenance up to par, but if we can manage a couple little mods that would be cool.

I will be starting a kickstarter to collect donations ASAP, however if you have any parts you are willing to donate that would be much appreciated as well. If you are not able to donate anything, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Is this a 2.0T or a 3.2? I may have a few 2.0T parts laying around you might be interested in.

Edit: Also, on the stud conversion, what length are you looking for?

      Thanks Guys!

As for the stud conversion, not sure about length but something that will allow for some spacers - so what's that put you at like 45-50mm? Maybe more?

Thanks everyone who has volunteered parts to put toward this project. When I am able to go see him in the hospital I will snag some pictures. And we will post pictures of the progress of the build.

Any length studs should work as long as open ended lug nuts are used.

This is what I heard from today from a friend:

"I told him today I took it out for a drive and washed it and he was happy. And Ill keep it at my house so I have easy access when we want to start working on it. He still can’t talk because of the breathing apparatus but he was fully awake and he was using a piece of paper with letters on it to spell out words. "

So that's good news, hopefully means there is no brain damage.
