Whoa! Did he say in the next episode they were going to paint it?

Nah... he only implied it. That could mean anything.

Yeah, the paint comment was cruel. It'll mean more rattle-can work on brackets or something

Or... what if they built a Mini-sized oven so they can powder coat the whole shell in one go? That could provide *years* of content.

I really look forward to the updates regardless of the outcome.

Richards upcoming wiring duty is going to be a nightmare from hell.

The next update should be pretty awesome when he gets everything figured out.

The part I found just amazing is when the senders either line up horizontal or vertical when torqued. That's how much attention to details the the original engineers designed into Japanese cars.

      Everything must be perfect.

There was an underhanded comment about figuring out the correct amount of liquid PTFE to make sure it lined up just right. I am not so sure I'd credit the oem engineers on this one...

I can't help but wonder what the fate of the car is once complete. Do they keep it and drive it? Is it too nice to drive and end up getting sold to someone who will stash it away for bragging rights? Whatever the outcome, I hope it gets driven and that we see what it can do. Some youtube should buy it and do a series about what it is like to live with. Harry Metcalf seems like the right steward of such a thing.

I'm quite sure I wouldn't. That's not something they ever considered. It doesn't enter into the calculations because it's inconsequential to all but anal-retentive car guys.

Yes, of course I've done it.

The Mini is supposed to be a street car, hence the keyless entry, power windows and A/C. I am sure they will earn a bunch of rock chips on the local B roads.

I just hope they don’t paint it red.

I don't see Binky going anywhere. This is also being put together as a street car, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did some open track day stuff with it, but nothing more.

My bigger question is where does BOM go after this. They've hinted at two other projects, so I am curious to see what they work on next and what level of detail they take it to.

I thought they still had that MG Xpower shell? I'd be interested to see whats coming up for that.

I also love all the crossover easter eggs planted between BOM, Skid Factory and DEBOSS Garage.

      Yeah, thats one of them.

They also talked about redoing their Peugeot 205 rally car.

      You rang?

Every time they talk about doing something the right way, I'm like...

...and then they actually take it a step further and it's...

I've been playing "spot the markers" with their wiring loom shots. I wouldn't mind an episode where they just go through the looming and harness clean-up process.

Really hoping they don't do convoluted split loom. I'll be genuinely disappointed if it makes an appearance. I'm somewhat heartened by the braided tubing they used on the engine harness.

They've mentioned it's going to be something for them to drive around, hence all the creature comforts.

They also mentioned due to all the modifications it won't fit in any of the racing categories so it's not going to be a track car for any specific competition, at least.
