That's why the C43 wagon exists.

I really like the current RS5 sportback and have considered a CPO one as a potential future S4 replacement (especially if we have kids), but some good info about usability. love the looks though.

Plot twist: Hawk gets his S5 on a 3 year lease. First day he drives it home he finds its almost 20" longer than his Golf and has 5 " longer wheelbase. He has to do a 5 point turn every time he gets into or out of his roofless garage and the car barely fits the space with the door closed. He then decides to list the car on leasetrader and buys back his old Golf.

(Actually the S5 is shorter than the Taycan and has a shorter wheelbase so it should fit. I really wonder if the Taycan would fit though at 195.4"?)

Oh you should not have shown that to me

I have been pondering a new car since my car was hit and only found out on Saturday that Audi still brings in the Allroad.

And now a small Mercedes AMG wagon? OMG

Never mind, its not available in the US. What the heck.

I haven't actually driven one but the C43 seems much more interesting than the S5.

Parking pad is 16 foot x 16 foot. Taycan is 16.25 feet long. So Taycan would only barely fit if I drove it right up to where the steps began and the nose overhung the steps.

IIRC S4 is ~186” and S5 Sportback is ~187”. That’s only 6” and 5” shy of 16ft. Nothing a little angle or overhang can’t accommodate though.

      This.
Edit - those autotrader signed cheque offers are full of horsehockey. Sure they offer it - when you go to collect/trade - the number does not match.
      Prove me wrong.

And hey, don’t get all butthurt because we call you out for flushing cash.
      You bring it upon yourself.

I have a friend trying to get out of same year spec R and he can’t get 23k in Ottawa....

Oh sorry, didn't know we weren't allowed to discuss possible car purchases on a car forum. I forgot that's showing off.

Didn't realize an S5 is so fancy.

Same motor my mother has in her Cayenne. In that car, putting around town you might not even know there's an engine present. Some might call that boring but it's also pleasant; no real NVH concerns to speak of. If you get on it, it's got plenty of go even in a Cayenne. What you can hear sounds decent and the boost ramp-up is pretty fun. Also gets decent mileage, she has no trouble getting low/mid 20s.

Are people going to write a chapter about it in the memoir? No, it's a touch forgettable. Does it suit sporty luxury cars? Absolutely--it's extremely proficient at what it does, and I would suggest that it's biggest fault is...well...not having any faults.

Yeah. VWOC ordered way too many 2019 Rs. Dealers are offering big discounts now.

I only spent $20.6k for my last new car. CAD70k is some fancy money.
