Ugh, head over to the in-laws because they are putting their Westy down tomorrow. The wife and the minion are super sad, at least there’ll be a big bottle of Jameson waiting for me.

Ugly looking game between Alabama and Mississippi State today. Tua snapped his leg or hip or something while simultaneously breaking his nose. That's a bad afternoon on the gridiron.

Heading to Atlanta for an overnight deal. God son's first decade on Andy's green earth is tomorrow.

It’s okay, not my dog but they are all sad. Their last Westy had Lymes disease so that one had to be put down a couple years ago too.

Grandparents are awesome and I used to feel shortchanged that my folks are dead. And then I pick up the minion on a Sunday and it takes us a few days to get him back to normal. At least I got grandpa to stop giving him sugar and artificial colors and feeding him fast food “treats.”

      Weird morning.

So I was out most of my last week (short, so only Mon/Tues) and I never check work email at home. So I walk in today still sick and notice the night people aren't in, just one guy from my side of the week.

"So you didn't hear what happened?"

(I hate how this starts) No of ****ing course not, I've been out.

Seems the RIF boat set sail, only about 30 people from my old company that is now merged in with all these other companies, but they took out 30% of my group. Odd thing is, this was decided on by a much higher up who has NO idea who we are, and he bascially wiped out the night shift. Now there's only 1 person per night. No coverage at all. Fun sense of dread since they didn't even look at who was canned, and what shift they work.

So now there's way more people on the day teams than we need, and there's 2 daytime contractor spots running too. So tomorrow morning there will be 5 of us sitting here with not much to do at all.

Also was told the severance was just a week per year of tenure plus vacation time paid out.

Really...and I mean REALLY don't want to look for another job. Guess it is the smart thing to do now though.

Guess this brings up another question for you Federal-type peoples on here... any idea if a security clearance follows you or does it stay with the job you previously held, especially for something as low level as a 6C public trust?
      A loving welcome from TCL

In my experience, no. I still had to go through the checks when I went from one agency to another.

Maybe that has chanced since 2009. The clearance required for what I do is so low, I thought it was silly that they two agencies weren't on the same page.

Having a clearance makes the process easier and faster, which is why many companies are interested in candidates that have active clearances, but it is tied you your employer.

Thanks, pretty much what I thought. At least the fact that I have/had it shows I'm not completely untrustworthy.

Hes a huge help so I try not to bitch about it but hes helping so often he needs to get on the same page as us. I also feel bad because my SIL was a complete psychopath about her kids and practically prevented anyone from even playing with them and my FIL is an amazing playmate with a toddler. He just needs to turn it off when playtime is over.

I’m trying to relax on the couch but instead I’m listening to the boy across the street bounce a soccerball off a two stall fiberglass garage door. Boom. Boom. Boom. Over and over and over. It’s not even his garage, this is his neighbor’s garage.

welp, after 3 years i get to deliver a eviction notice to my first tenant. hes been a extremely good tenant, and was almost always on time with payments. but the beginning of this year he ran into hard times (his childs mother who didnt live with him died of cancer and she was paying for most of the kid) and he had to take over paying for him. we have been more then generous by waiving a month of rent when that happened and then letting him pay bits and pieces of rent when he can. we even had him help my dad do some renovations to my house to pay off rent but this past month he stopped responding to my parents phone calls and texts when asking if he was available to do work on my house. giving him 5 days to pay back 2/3 of back rent (as per DE law) and then starting the eviction process if he doesnt. he has been a pretty level headed guy so i hope he doesnt turn into a POS and start trashing the place or causing problem

      Major disappointing discovery today...

A lintlel above over one of my windows is failing. Major iron oxide to the point needing of remove a 12' X 4' section of brick. This is on the south side of my **** hole house. The bill should be between 5 to 10K, in my estimation. This really is not a DIY project.

I'll call for a few to five proposals this week, and not looking forward to the proposed bill.

I have many steel lentels around my house but only one has failed; it must be a piece of 'bad' steel. All of the lentels are about 1/4".

Today was the day when my sobriety broke. Much sads.

I'll add pictures tomorrow since it's well past sunset.
