Thanks! We’re real happy with how it turned out.

The blocking the builder put it was too high in the wall, lol. I had to mount the bracket right below it to get the height we wanted. A bit of a bummer but at least I didn’t pay for it. :p

Have to get up at 4:30 tomorrow. Was supposed to be a long weekend too. Nothing like getting 1 day of a 3 day weekend.

Announcement went out yesterday about the org changes. Going to be an interesting few months until they get those open seats filled.

vet called yesterday with the 6-month results of the dog's fecal sample: giardia.

so no we have to give him a pill ever 12 hours and a squirt of paste (in the mouth) once a day. luckily he's a lab mix, so sees both as a snack. we also had to throw out all his soft toys and disinfect all the items like bowls and bedding. now just hoping it wasn't a kind we can get.

I was thinking it shouldn’t be too bad.

I just paid for a second set of power folding mirrors for the wife’s R. They’re heated and have puddle lights. The set was about $300.

      Aww, poor pup.

Juniper doesn’t take pills well at all. She always picks them out of whatever food we hide it in and spits it out. Forcing them down her throat isn’t fun, especially now that she’s so big and had all the teeth.

One of the nurses at the vet actually recommended stuffing it in a marshmallow. Seems bad but we have vegan marshmallows that aren’t full of bs chemicals so we tried that and damned if it worked.

Ham. I gotta be ready with the 1-2-3 with dog #2, be damned if she'll eat literally anything but find and spit out a pill in that pill pocket? Heck. Yes.

I wrap the offending item in ham, and then get two more pieces ready so I can throw them in her mouth, one-two-three. By the third one she's swallowed the first one in anticipation of more ham snacks.

She's like the princess and the God damned pea, otherwise. Picky dog who normally won't eat anything out of the norm? "oh look a piece of ham I'd better eat it so other dog doesn't get it". He has yet to spit out a pill, ever.

Giardia was a great time at our house
Luckily it was only dog #1 that was affected but what. A. Mess.

that seems like a good idea.

our vet suggested braunschweiger but we had some Applegate turkey cold cuts and wrapped the pill in that and down the hatch it went. everything outside goes in his mouth, so we could have wrapped it anything to be honest.

the good thing is (or bad?) we didn't notice anything different in behavior, diet, or stool so perhaps we caught it early. the only drawback is, he can't attend daycare until he's clean.

Wife has been vegetarian for 30 years, regular marshmallows have gelatin in them. These vegan marshmallows are from Trader Joe's and they are actually really good.

my dad had a heart attack in 2011 and I'm already on BP medication at 32, so I started some changes ~10 years ago. when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, I made the change to full organic (where possible).

I've been conscience about my diet since 2011 and do my best to maintain low sodium, low cholesterol/fat foods, and reduced red meat intake. even with regular working out, my doctor basically said my family genetics are working against me.

now, I still allow one night of filth a week. for example, we did fried cheese, pretzels, and burgers with fries for dinner last night and it was amazing.

That cake does look pretty amazing. I'd expect something like that from a bakery.

She also make some great zucchini bread.
