Alright... I dropped my car off with a guy who has lived and breathed VW for decades. L1 advanced tech, ASE master and all sorts of stuff. The problem is I don't have any of that.

      The car
      2000 Golf 1.8t

He has told me this is what he found in "output tests"
Tank breathing valve n80 short to earth

Charge pressure control valve n75 short to earth

Leak diag pump tank breathing system short to earth

Air recirc valve for turbocharger n249 short to earth

Injector cyl 1 n30 short to earth

Injector cyl 3 n32 short to earth

Injector cyl 4 n33 short to earth

Injector cyl 2 n31 short to earth

That looks really ugly to me... Anybody??? This looks expensive

I want to know if the car is screwed or if I'm looking at keeping my arms, legs and nuts? I'm going to need all three when Gas goes up to $5 a gallon (its going to ask how I know)
Whats the matter kiddo...Vd got ya down???

You expect us to go on a paraphase from someone else that you don't trust by someone who doesn't know much about the issue and we could magically tell you if what they said is correct or expensive?

Having diagnosis software only gets you so far. A technican often uses these tools along with troubleshooting and repair skills to trace down and repair the car. What do you consider expensive? No disrespect but there isn't enough known about your problem (missing a VCDS auto scan) to say much. Codes can cascade. One fault or problem can cause the car to throw multiple codes even though there is one problem.

My advise would be to relax and wait to get more information from the tech. Posting here without VCDS isn't going to yield much information or comfort. Raw speculation: It's not too bad.

Its verbatim not paraphrased. I copied it with my Iphone. Sorry for posting here. There is not an electrical forum relating to engine electronics. Let it sink to the bottom...

There is no verbatim auto-scan in that post.

And also the point is a bad resistor was put in place of the solenoid... Therefore a couple zeros in block 32. New resistor = no problem.

You spent the time to find this and post it here but didn't find the time to read the sticky thread in this forum; "Read This Before Posting....".

Someone please lock this thread because it was finished at post #1.

The fact that I understand semantics makes it obvious. Also I'd gladly push for a lock. What subject might we be talking about with my "level of reason"?

Possibly that a guy who tries to act tough on A FORUM consistently is likely a total VAG... Pun intended.

Here's a little help in case you don't get it

      pun
      /pən/
      Noun
A joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that there are words that sound alike but have different meanings.
      Verb
Make a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word.
      Synonyms
wordplay - quibble - quirk - play on words - paronomasia

Wow... This one was tough to find

      Vag

adj. Prounounced vadge. A truncation of the noun vagina, used to describe something as having feminine qualities. Does not carry any positive connotations. Usually references music, television, movies, but can be applied to anything possessing a weak, often sappy core or thematic element.

******EDIT***** LMFAO Sorry you don't get to charge me $100 an hour for this. For that you should have been able to tell me that "output tests" commonly show shorts to earth. Thanks though... Go bury yourself.

MODS LOCK IT UP BEFORE WE GET INVOICED...
