I think this may have been accidentally posted on Luxist. I was making the thread on another forum and went to copy and paste the specs, but the article was gone. The pics are still up for now though:

Beautiful vehicle inside and out IMO

Nice. But is it real or is it a concept? The first Range Rovers were 2-doors. A return would be a fitting tribute to the brand. I like the Jaguar XF gear selector.

      Thanks.

The highly anticipated all-new Range Rover was revealed to the world at an exclusive 40th anniversary celebration at Kensington Palace, on July 1, 2010 in association with Vogue Magazine.

The all-new Range Rover Evoque is the lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover to date - continuing our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Range Rover has remained true to the spirit of the original LRX Concept car first revealed in Detroit in 2008. Gerry McGovern, Land Rover design director, said: "It marks a bold evolution of Range Rover design, providing customers with a desirable, premium and coupé like SUV. In 2008 we introduced the LRX concept car: after a positive reception worldwide, the natural step for the business was to turn the concept into reality."

Its official public debut will be at the Paris Motor Show on September 30 this year and it will be available in the showroom from late 2011. Be part of the exciting journey, visit our launch website www.helloevoque.com

The black A, B, C pillars really works on this, I guess it's been their thing for a while, but this little thing is HOT.

It looks fat from the front. But I still want this bad.

Does the gear selector sit flush when the car is off and raises up when you turn the car on? BONER!

Another pointless vehicle just like a ZDX and the X6; if you want an SUV without the Utility, buy a sedan or a coupe.

I'm all about the Evoque. I can't wait to check it out in person because if the price is right this just might be my next vehicle.

I'm usually not a fan of Luxury SUVs but this is amazing; luxury, technology, the styling is fairly clean and cohesive.

Here's the cached post from Luxist:

This is the 2012 Range Rover Evoque - lighter, meaner, even greener... than the usual Range Rover product, at least. The production version of the LRX-inspired luxury SUV wears all of the cues that made us ask them to build it in the first place, and an interior that raises the game for smaller sport-ute offerings.

On the subject of exteriors, there will be three design themes from which to choose: Pure, a minimalistic take with 19-inch wheels outside and natural colors complemented by brushed metal trim inside; Prestige, a "bespoke exterior" treatment with exclusive 19-inch wheels paired "an indulgent interior;" or Dynamic, with 19- or 20-inch wheels a reworked bodykit, and a "premium sports interior" cabin with items like perforated leather seats.

Inside is an interior influenced not only by the Range Rover Sport, but by Jaguar as well. Seriously bolstered seat straddle a center tunnel wherein lies a rotary gear change dial that rises to hand. The four-setting Terrain Response System dial has been replaced with buttons attending an illuminated menu. Controls are mainly managed through an 8-inch touchscreen. Aural enjoyment is provided by the 825-watt, 17-speaker Meridian sound system with additional inputs for other peripherals.

Underneath the Evoque's hood is a 240-horsepower, 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder provided by Ford engine which should provide plenty of grunt with smaller gas bills. Electric power steering turns the wheels, and an regenerative electrical system captures energy when those wheels are slowed down. Roadgoing is meant to be kept smooth by the MagneRide adaptive dynamics suspension. It goes on sale in the fall of 2011, but we'll see it in person at the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month.
For the record, the Evoque is awesome. I want one.

rynodyno312: Just curious, but what makes it a "controversial" engine?
Fritz27: The LS7 made some anti-Semitic remarks back in 2008. Look it up.

This mini SUV is stunning to look at both inside and out.

really nice looking vehicle with an even nicer interior that for me it's ruined by this nob. Even if the car car is automatic nothing beats the look and feel of a conventional leather wrapped shifter. this is just gimmick for no reason at all

It seems as if it will be pointless as a *utility* vehicle, but damn if it isn't good looking.

This looks good though. So it's not pointless.
