Well this escalated quickly. CBR is apart to change out the spark plugs, redo some wiring and install a new fender eliminator.

I'm going to say yes, and I did the same. Picked up my first bike yesterday. 2017 (new) Ninja 300.

I realized the other day that the colors of my bike aren't as Kool as I thought they were.

Had to tap threads to get the M6 bolt into the new battery. I procrastinated on that for a few weeks. Amazingly with nearly 2 year old gas the bike started right up

Now I just need to swap one of the cheapo shocks back in and put it up for sale. Also gotta sell the ZX6R forks and Z1000 triple clamp and the Racetech shock I never rode on. I do need to take it out for one ride before I ditch it.

I will say hearing it start and idle hit me in the feels. But I just don't want to own a bike right now

Added a USB charger to the bike last weekend.

I pulled the dash off the weekend before to remove the tank, and found a lot of room underneath - enough room to pass a cable through. I used the factory battery tender pigtail to run a 3' USB cable to the front of the tank.

Whenever we travel, I mount my phone on the bars for directions, and I think this will work out just fine. I like the fact that I can tuck it underneath when I'm not using it.

Not sure I will leave it on year round, but it's clean.

First long trip on the Beemer.
Checked the tire’s for proper inflation, packed bike and got the rain gear out for a 6:00 am departure tomorrow morning heading to Muskegon and hopping on the Lake Express ferry to Milwaukee then head towards Duluth and spend the next couple of days riding around the north shore of Lake Superior and cross back into Michigan at Sault Ste. Marie, cross the Big Mac Bridge, go to Cross Village and ride south through “The Tunnel of Trees”, and follow the eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan down to Frankfort / Manistee and then head for home.

Nice. Got a map of what you're planning to cover?

I'm prepping for a week-long trip, too. We leave on the 15th.

When I mean prep, I mean "try to get over to my buddies garage this weekend so I can check his fluids, tire pressures, battery, and rear shock pressure so I don't have to do it the morning we leave" prep.

No real plan other than trying to stay dry while working our way to Duluth, maybe a side trip to Rhinelander since the guy I'm riding with is from Germany.
We'll follow Hwy 61 from Duluth to the Minnesota / Canadian border, visit a couple of nice waterfalls and a lighthouse on the way. Maybe spend the second night in Minnesota or
ride on to Thunder Bay. Take the Trans-Canadian hwy 17 east with stops in a few of the provincial parks, hike a mile or two up river at Sand River Falls south of Wawa.

Nice, have fun. We're shooting for THIS

We're spending two days in Niagara, not sure how far we'll get into Ontario.

Found out why the clutch was slipping, old clutch spring on the right new one on the left. 48 years old it's sagged about a half inch and there was little clamping force left in the clutch pack. The discs and drive plates themselves weren't necessarily bad but they got replaced as well.
